Some members of the bitcoin community serves to remove Coinbase from the list of recommended cryptocurrency wallets on the website Bitcoin.org because of the growing complaints on the platform.

A number of bitcoin enthusiasts are dissatisfied with the statements of cryptocurrency platform Coinbase on the "hard fork" and unwillingness to work with an alternate token of the Ethereum ecosystem — ETC (Ethereum Classic).

"In light of recent events, I would like to resume the discussion about possible exclusion Coinbase from the list "Choose your wallet" on the website [Bitcoin.org]," wrote user from Hungary under the name nopara73 on GitHub.

In his opinion, the behavior Coinbase raises many questions, whether their refusal to support the removal of assets ETC, and delay in results to the users of the funds from the account that was discussed last days in the environment of bitcoin enthusiasts.

Nopara73 opinion was supported by several members of the bitcoin community, including the infamous mysterious user under the pseudonym Cobra-Bitcoin, known for being proposed "changes to the "White paper" bitcoins" manifest Satoshi Nakamoto.

"I support the idea of their exclusion. Their leadership continues to make bad decisions, and they have the impression, trying to undermine the work of the bitcoin in some way (support XT, Classic, Ethereum and so on). I don't understand how a normal person can use their services. This is not the company to use we should encourage new users. Coinbase is too irresponsible, they have forgotten what in fact are the Bank and therefore should not behave as a prudent startup that aims only to "fast development". I am very glad that more and more people begin to understand the truth about Coinbase," wrote Cobra-Bitcoin.

We can only guess who may be hiding behind this nickname. There are several theories: some believe that Cobra-Bitcoin is one of the developers of Blockstream, which has been repeatedly and previously suspected in plots against the decentralized system.

But this theory is refuted by one of the representatives from Blockstream Greg Maxwell, who in a discussion thread on Reddit said that Cobra-Bitcoin is neither an employee of Blockstream, nor one of the developers of the kernel team of bitcoin.

At the same time, it is worth remembering that the signature Cobra is under the road map to increase wired capacity of the system of bitcoin along with all known representatives of the bitcoin community. A simple bitcoin user would not be able to attend the meeting in Hong Kong and, moreover, was not empowered to sign such documents.

Other users believe that behind the nickname Cobra is hiding Bitcoin another bitcoin enthusiast, Theymos, known for his strong statements about bitcoin. Guesses are based on the fact that they are both owners of the domain Bitcoin.org.

The decision to exclude Coinbase, used and some core developers of bitcoin — Peter Todd and Jonas Shnelli. The latter, in particular, proposed to introduce the warning mode for Coinbase: do not completely remove them from the list, and make the icon less bright and add a warning sign, clicking on which would out the window with an explanation of why Coinbase is deactivated.
