Rockport, Mass is a small seaport town as imagined by artist all over the world (more on that further down). As you drive through it the roads they magically turn into lanes that expose you a busy lobster-boat filled harbor. After a while you start to notice fishing shacks that are now art galleries and boutiques that hold some of the most awe inspiring pieces that you may lay your eyes on. This town is located about an hour drive north of Boston and it seems to be the best choice for a quick getaway when visiting New England.

Number one on our list is this lovely part of Rockport that is internationally know as an art colony.
Oh yes! welcome to Bear Skin Neck Bear-Skin-Neck-Rockport-MA.jpg

This narrow street believe it or not is actually 2 lane road but by looking at it and the influx of tourist that roam here in the warm summer day's you'd think otherwise. Once you get passed that i urge that you visit the many store fronts there and most importantly dine in at "My Place by the Sea" if you are a seafood entusiast.bearskin.jpg photo taken from www.bearskinneck.net

#2 Motif Number 1 inspiring artist all over the world. The shack that stands today is a replica of the former structure that was built in 1840 and was destroyed during the blizzard of 1978 one of the worst snow storms in New Englands history. Not only is this structure known as "the most often-painted building in America" by students of art and art history but this little fishing shack was able to last almost one hundred and fifty years. During this period and until today this place brings a feeling of serenity and peace to anyone who is lucky to visit this place.

side note: Most people may have seen Motif Number 1 and not have know what it was.... this little shack was actually featured in Finding Nemonemo_motif.png
It was a tribute by director Andrew Stanton to his hometown of Rockport

Compared to a lot of the places i've traveled throughout Mass, to me Rockport has some of the best spots for the most amazing view, that will drive a feeling of oneness with nature through you. take a look bellow...

#4 the people of Rockport

predominantly we are known as "Massholes"..... Its okay we pretty much are haha, it might have something to do with how the weather has way to many mood swings, i'm talking about going from cold to warm to rain all in one day. But this doesn't seem to affect the people of this beautiful town because I've found them to be some of the most friendly folks around, always giving new comers a warm welcome. early mornings you will find the lobstermen and fishermen prepping their boats and traps then setting sail for a hard days work.

whether youre looking to reconnect with the ocean and nature, explore a small fishing town or just looking for a quiet place to relax and flush away your troubles, Rockport will provide it. With its bright and colorful history, charming locals, you will feel right at home in this little town at the edge of Cape Ann. Also dont worry about your age, background, or interest i guarantee you will find something you love about Rockport.

As a parting gift heres a few more pictures taken this morning
