We need about 1500$ for starting this project. It's a lot of money but who knows, maybe we can do it!

Hi everybody, as the title itself shows this is a post announcing the development of a site application where you will be able to setup several types of mail notifications that will make you not to missed important things that happen at steemit.com

You will have (hopefully soon) the new application at www.steemit2mail.com

This is an idea that came up yesterday talking to a friend about the lack of a notification system in the beloved community of steemit.com

We know other projects like the Steemification Chrome extension. But we think in something more retro: the mail notifications.

The several types of notification we are going to be working are:

  1. User type notifications:
    a) New followers on a given user.
    b) New upvotes on a given user.
    c) New flags on a given user.
    d) A given user make a new comment.
    e) A given user publish a new post.

  2. Comment type notifications:
    a) New reply to a given comment.
    b) New upvote to a given comment.
    c) New flag to a given comment.
    d) A comment reach more than X rewards.

  3. Post type notifications:
    a) New comment publish on a given post.
    b) New upvote on a given post.
    c) New flag on a given post.
    d) A post reach more than X views.
    e) A post reach more than X rewards.

And you will be able to chose how often you want to receive this notifications on a basis as follow:
a) Hourly b) Daily c) Weekly d) yearly

The main problem we will be facing is the growing traffic we will have to assume. In this way, we are thinking of making it free of charge at the beginning for the first notifications and then charge a lifetime price if you want to use more than X notifications. What do you think as a user? Do you think is a good idea to charge or do you think is better for it to be free and just try to pay expenses with the upvotes we generate in our blog. By the way, the blog/user is in its way. We have ask steemit support for a new user called: steemit2mail

So, what do yo think about steemit2mail project? Are u interested in or you think is just silly? Every comment is welcome!
