Skepticism and envy are two different things

in #steemit8 years ago

The back/forth continues, and now the heavy hitters of liberty/heavy hitters of steemit are condescending to skeptics and curious people, accusing them of envy and anger that they are making thousands by posting to this platform.

Let's be honest about a few things.

  1. Why do you believe your network of liberty-minded people became connected in the first place? My answer to this is that we all figured out that we weren't alone in being skeptical, vigilant, and reasonably critical.

  2. Is it entirely unreasonable that lofty claims of making big money on a social media platform that, for most of us, ascended to THE prime topic of discussion over the course of a couple of days, smell somewhat fishy? The easy and clear answer to this is of course not. We've all seen enough late night infomercials starring snake-oil salesmen (not to mention we've all seen real snake-oil salesmen in political campaigns) to know that easy money is typically made off of suckers and fools.

  3. What kind of logical leap did you make to deduce that skeptics are envious?

  4. When pressed with straightforward questions about how the whole thing works, especially the really good questions like, "From where does the money originate?" (which is a question anyone remotely familiar with economics SHOULD be asking), did you get petulant and tell them to go watch a video, or did you attempt to have an honest and transparent discussion?

  5. If you are experiencing great success, then what do you care? If your first reaction has been to label skeptics as haters, then it's clear what your motive is. You want them to commit their time and effort without asking questions so you can get their follows and upvotes.

I enjoyed your post, and I agree with your logic here because I don't see the connection between skepticism and envy either. I have read a few posts this morning that could lead me to think that certain individuals seem to believe at this moment in time that people are jealous of their personal successes here and elsewhere, then again maybe I'm reading too much into it. Who knows? I certainly am not hating on anyone who has and is gaining financially here, more power (steemit power, too!) to that individual and carry on, give us a great example of how to do things that will provide us with the much needed insight on how to become more successful too! I'd like to use your methods and template, test them and see if I'm capable of achieving the same social standing. That's just my take on things right now.

I'm here to enjoy myself, to get my thoughts and ideas out there to whomever is willing to read and engage in dialogue , and to learn along the way from those who have something of interest to share as well.
Happy writing!
