The MOST IMPORTANT advice on how to Earn with Steem

in #steemit6 years ago

TL;DR

Just start posting.

I quit my job 3 weeks ago now. I was to stressed out to be 23yo, and my girlfriend and I could afford it, so I quit.

That gave me time to do the things I like the most: coding on my side-projects, playing the guitar, spend some time with my dogs and, finally, getting back to the crypto-universe. I couldn't be happier.

But of course, like in any dream, one has to wake up. Like almost every other human being on this planet, I need money to live.

So I this question came to my head:

Can I make some money while living the dream?

I'm sure some of you have asked that questions to yourself at least once in your life.
So I started looking for an answer to that question.

I read many articles, watched several 'HOW I MADE 100$ ON STEEM IN ONE DAY' kind of videos, and noticed there was a tip everyone gives; that led me to my question again, but realizing I had been emphasizing the wrong part of it.

It's not about 'while living the dream'.

It was about wether I could do it or not.

That advice was: Just do it. If you never start posting, you will never start making money. You'll never start making a follow. You'll never get anything.

On the other hand, if you just write whatever it is that you write, then everything starts moving.

I also struggled with the question: what should I write about?. And found out after some research that this is the answer: Write about anything!

But no, wait, not just anything. Write about something you love. Something you are passionate about. Me myself, I'm still figuring out what is it that I'm most passionate about. Some ideas I am juggling between are personal progress, as this post itself is about my thoughts on overcoming the first milestone on this Steemian journey. Maybe it will stay like that, maybe I will just post random posts on different subjects everyday, but the main theme would be my opinion and my writing.

Finally, as I got the guts from many people's experience and advice, I would like to share with you, dear fellow minnow:

Start pushing, and things will start moving. Just share something you love.

What about you?

What would be your advice for people like me, who want to start blogging but are afraid to start?

I would just say to carry on what your doing, the people who like your content will appreciate your posts. Thats the thing I love about this platform, people or 'minnows' actually take their time to write as there is an incentive for the effort. So just connect with people who you can relate with and enjoy the content of that community. Everything else will probably fall into place naturally - if it doesn't then at least you have a news feed of stuff that interests you, if you make money from it then great .... thats my plan anyway (I signed up yesterday lol)

I think you nailed it! The thing that excites me the most about blogging besides 'putting my truth out there' is getting to know people (as yourself) who are in the same vibe, willing to thrive. Thanks a lot for your comment and your time spent!

Have you tried using https://esteem.app ? You can earn bigger rewards if you do so. I hope you find it useful because it'll help you greatly along the way man...

Hey @kaliju! Thanks for your comment!
The page just won't load? Where you experiencing this kind of issue?

I fixed the link, my bad! :D

Thanks! By the way, how could I earn bigger rewards by using the app? Also wich app are you suggesting me to use? Desktop or Mobile?

Desktop app for example, allows you to edit posts even after the 7 day payout period. Both mobile and desktop have drafts and scheduling features. By using the apps and sharing quality content - curators can give you an upvote once every 24hrs. I use both apps.

Ok, you got me. Downloading. And again, thanks a lot!
