Which whales are currently powering down?

Hey all, Kemosabe here!

I was recently inspired by @jerrybanfield to create a post analyzing percentages of which of the top 50, 100, and 1000 whales are currently in the process of powering down. I got the idea from his post here
According to the official Steemit FAQ, Powering down is explained as the following:

"Powering down - If you have STEEM Power, you can power down to turn it into liquid STEEM over a period of time. The system >will transfer 1/13 of your STEEM Power to STEEM each week for about three months (13 weeks), starting 1 week from the time it >is started. However, you will lose your influence in the network proportionally to how much is powered down, so think about it >carefully. Power downs can be stopped at any time."

I also took it upon myself to figure out a few other things like which of these whales that are powering down are actually powering down today? I got all information starting with the information laid out on steemwhales.com I plan to take this data and analyze some more of it, IE looking at days of the week and the most popular ones that whales begin "powering down" on. It seemed like I saw a lot of whales payouts coming in 6 days, maybe Monday is the most popular day? ;D I will be looking into the data much more closer, just wanted to get the info out there!

Out of the top 100 whales, 32 are currently powering down, or simply 32% are powering down. Only 3% of the top 100 whales are receiving their power-down payouts today. These three are @ben, @summon, and @eeks. This can be seen on the following screenshot of the spreadsheet that I compiled. I will attach a link to the google sheets of my compiled data at the end.

Out of the top 500 whales, there are 137 currently in the process of powering down. This is about 27.4% of the top 500 whales that are in the process of powering down! A little less than the percent of top 100 whales powering down. Looking closer, we see that 22 of the top 500 whales will be receiving their power-down payouts today. This only 4.4% of the top 500 whales while on the other hand it covers 16.05% of the top 500 whales who are in the process of powering down who are to receive payouts for powering down today.

Now on to the top 1000 steemit whales that are powering down, and those of which are receiving payments for powering down today! Out of the top 1000 steemit whales, 249 of them are in the process of powering down. That is an even smaller 24.9% of the top 1000 whales powering down! Of these 249, 38 are receiving some payout for powering down today. This is only 3.8% of the top 1000 whales which are receiving power down rewards today!

SO! What does this say about the power down process and what does this say about the whales who are powering down?
It could say a lot. I am working on some other analyses of the data right now, but I want to hear your guys opinions!! To check out the compiled spreadsheet check out the link here

I want to know YOUR guys opinions! Some of the other post topics jerry banfield mentioned may not be done yet, so check it out and elaborate! I think he might touch on some of these questions.

Here are some small snippets of the spreadsheet at least showing the names and time until next reward for those that don't want to retrieve the spreadsheet themselves. The screenshot posted earlier is left out of the sequence because of redundancy reasons. That covered the top 100 whales, while the next set will cover the whales between 101-500.

And below are the remaining whales from 501-1000 who are in the process of powering down!

Even if someone beat me too it... This is some interesting information and I think we can all take from it. I've learned about a new resource at the very least, www.steemwhales.com. Hope you guys enjoyed the stats, will get back to my analysis and see if I can find some more interesting stuff out!
