How to EFFECTIVELY defend against GOVT ZOMBIES.

in #steemit7 years ago

You never know when a zombie attack will come into reality. Let's say that government reps craze out and start eating our brains when taking our money gets boring. Here is a guide to defend yourself (and maybe your most valuable properties) against these minions of hell, if we ever have to face them.

1. Weapons

You'll need ranged weapons capable of piercing a skull, from at least 10+ yards away. Unfortunately, zombies, regardless their type, only die from shots to the head. If you do not have access to firearms or if they're forbidden in your country (by the guys who are now the damn zombies (I wonder, did they know that one they they'd hunt you down?)), you can always make your own toy for a few bucks, as showed in the video below (they are also very useful for protection against common robbers/looters):

2. Strategy

Weapons are no good if no strategy is used when applying their power. You should get a map of your piece of land and study the best spots to stand guard. Long corridors are great for barricades and narrowing your shooting area.

General rules:

  • Stay away from windows;
  • Have enough ammo and shooting power;
  • Make sure every family member is armed and coordinated so you don't spend ammo twice or more on the same target;
  • Stock food, water, medications and bandages in the safe spot.

a) Positioning

DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE. Look for rooms with no more than 2 entrances. One of these entrances should be left open so you can shoot them from afar and the other one should be used to escape in case things go bad (however, that's not always an option, since our enemies FLY). The open door will give them one inviting entrance. Don't fool yourself thinking they won't break in if you keep everything shut. These guys have been specialists on bringing properties down all their lives - that won't change in their undeadness. Below are some examples of best places to be during a govt zombie attack in a house.

As shown below, we've chosen the master bathroom in this house as our safe spot. The features taken in consideration for this choice were the possibility of long ranged shots, the existence of a toilet (even in war we may need to ease our bladders (or worse)) and the free space to store our survival items listed above.

Setting a half barricade can slow invaders down if they get through the first volley and won't have a negative effect on your shooting (remember, always aim for their heads).

Terrible place to live in - no safe room to be during a govt zombie attack. Every room has windows big enough for them to breach and the bathrooms don't have a real good shooting angle. You're most likely dead if you live in a house like this.

b) Extras

If you have a staircase in your property, they can be very useful. There is no safe way to climb a staircase against an armed opponent (in this case, you and your family), so, use it to your advantage. Shoot'em from up high straight in their skulls.

Women, children and elders must be part of the resistance - teach them how to handle your weapons as soon as you think they're able to do it. Every single person should be part of the phalanx.
Be careful with noise. If you're lucky, you can avoid a zombie attack just by being silent and not drawing their attentions. Leave your cell phones OFF.

3. Neighborhood Coordination

Every society should be organized against the use of violence by an opposing force.
Coordinate with your neighbors, form local alliances and execute drills regularly. Being prepared to a large scaled event will not hurt you - it will rather strengthen the bonds among good citizens, making spoiling over them harder.

Also, whenever this kind of event kickstarts into reality, government as we know it will be gone. No more taxes, statal money or regulations. Be your own man, practice free trades of food, weapons or just about anything you need or produce with your brothers-in-arms and notice how capitalism is a win-win, no zero sum game.

Well, some might argue that a zombie invasion wouldn't be so bad after all!

Sort:

You'd definitely need to coordinate with the people around you to survive, but after a few days the initial shock of zombies would wear off and the necessity for resources would increase. If possible, your best bet would be to migrate to an area where you could at least get consistent food and water. Other than that, you have a lot of good advice here.
