Is Steem Worth for me to spend time and effort ? I wish to learn from my mistake

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Firstly,  I have spent couple of days and effort to post a story to let people know more about me throughout my journey and also the country I am from . Please click here to find out more, however, I found out, good effort sometimes is not really returning with good result. To be frank, I was a bit disappointed with it , but afterwards, I did some research and found out it might be because I lack of promoting my post, so, right now I am writing this post to seek some advise from your guys in order to keep myself moving on Steemit, I wish to find out the issue and learn from my mistake. your comments are highly appreciated,

Thank You

I clicked over to your other post and it is just awesome!

Too bad that probably not many people saw it when you posted. Since I live on the other side of the world from you I was probably sleeping when you posted. New posts sink out of sight pretty quickly if they don't get votes right away to tak them on to the HOT and then TRENDING pages.

So, timing can be important when you are new and before you have followers to upvote you.

This is a huge issue with Steemit, IMO. If you live in asia (like I do and leonalicious does) then you get shafted, regardless of the quality of your content.

Maybe find out what the peak times for activity are on this site and post then?

Right now steem has a pretty small userbase that isn't diverse, and wealth is highly concentrated with the whales which makes it more difficult to start out than I think it would be in the future, but you get early advantage now (assuming steem is successful). Good luck.

hmm, its tough to find out when is the peak times, maybe over the weekend ? but i do agree with you and i realize that the reason why we need reputation, cheers.

Find a way to bring value and work through language barriers. Or bring folks from your native language onto the platform to build up a niche there. Good luck!

Right..... That's right. :)

you got the point, but still i think English should be the main language as everyone can understand with it

Hi, welcome to steemit, many people join steemit to change themself for better way, including me. :)

thx @happyphoenix, I am just confused how can a good and quality post get exposed to public on Steemit ?it there a way or any channel to do the promoting ? I am dilemma

Just do it.... Write your original post, look popular and trending topic, and learn on their posting. Just keep going on.

You can promote your posts here: https://steemit.chat/channel/postpromotion-moderated...

Give it time. Persistence is key here. Build friendship with users, help the new ones (earn their hearts), give real feedback to newer posts and just make good/interesting posts (not copy/paste obv), whatever you find interesting in your life, give it to us. Good luck.

yeah, i found out that channel too, for sure i will, thank you @toxichan
