The possibilities of steem for makers and open source

 

Ok apparently I am too late again and half blind as i didn't notice this following great article about the same thing:

Anyway this is now here and its too late to do anything about it... though it is very interesting that we had same points and same beginning even i didn't see his article before this :D

I have lately spent lot of time in steemit… even too much I am afraid ;)   

Ok i have to first admit i am not an much of a writer, but i do my best to explain my thought to all of you.

Anyway I have read a lot of blogs about steemit and how it will make people rich, end wars and make world better place for everyone so I don’t have anything new to add for those things but anyway I will share my thoughs of other possibilities of steem in here. 

What I think is that the open source and makers communities could have a great opportunity from steem in a way of custom website where people would show and give away their designs, software and well just about anything they make and of course this don’t need to even be limited to makers communities as this idea could be used for many different websites. 

The reason why this could work well is that now instead people doing so without any possibility of having extra income from it, they could have change to earn some profit while doing it. Beside all of this it could also allow open source community to grow faster and improve everything included in it much faster.  

Of course what is even more interesting is that the people who would upvote they could also have a change to give ideas to improve the design and the best ideas again would be rewarded so who wouldn’t want to give their great ideas up if they don’t necessarily need to do it for free ;) 

The big question is that when all of this will happen? Of course no one knows and maybe it takes some time, but now that we have this experiment of steemit running who knows might in near future we will see a lot of new and innovative websites using steem as reward mechanism and I am genuinely very thrilled to see it happening.
