1st Day On Steem Poker And I Take 1st Place, Wow What A Rush (24.50)
Hi fellow steemians,
Today just got a whole lot better, thanks to the Steem-it poker league and the International Womens Day Freeroll, which was a nail biting finish. I was so happy to make it just to the final table, I didn't expect for one minute I would actually win it. I have to personally thank the host @bethalea for cheering me on, it was a great atmosphere and I really enjoyed the game.
In addition, I want to thank @oendertuerk, as it was his orginal post here :
https://steemit.com/poker/@oendertuerk/steem-poker-league-oendertuerk-s-10-sbd-freeroll-thursday-march-8th-en-de
That introduced me to @lucksacks.com poker room in the first place, and if it was not for that introduction, I would have never discovered this place, so a special thanks goes out to him!!
Now, it's been a while since I played poker and entered the SPL 10 SBD community casino freeroll first to see how I would do and took 5th spot there for 0.80 and was very please with that. I just love this place, and finding the poker just put the icing on the cake, I encourage you to join and play some poker even if it's just for fun @lucksacks.com and the more people that enter a tournament the more places it pays.
I would also love to thank @guiltyparties and @ats-witness for sponsoring this event, this day has been one of my best thanks to everyone involved. I know it's not a lot of money but it's the thrill of the ride, and the excitement of making it to the final table all rolled into one, the money is just a bonus. Great poker players there too, enjoyed it immensely.
In addition, a big thank you to @rawdawg for sponsoring the extra bonuses!!
Finally I would like to thank some of the players and people that were cheering me on, thanks so much you guys :

Sorry if I got any of your names wrong or misspelled, just reply here and I will put it right, thanks so much!
Thanks to @tuck-fheman for posting the screen shots of some of the play, and the final table if you would like to see it you can check it out here :
Yay! Thank you for tagging me 'cause I was having a hard time figuring out your and Diogo's names on Steemit. I promised 5 SBD for the winner, 3 SBD for the runner-up, and 2 SBD for the second runner-up, and I always keep my promises.
Hi @ancapbarbie,
Wow!! I did not even know about this extra 5 SBD offer, so I want to thank you for sending that, and I can definitely verify that you indeed keep your promises too!!
I wanted to give a big shoutout to everyone that was cheering me on in the chat, and for those who took the time to put the entire event together too, because without that taking place first, my taking first place would not have happened in the first place :) So Thank you too. I look forward to playing more at
@lucksacks
We're talking about putting together a weekly women's game. Stay tuned!
Yeah, that would be so cool!! Please count me in for that for certain!!
Congratulations on your win, nicely done.
Thank you @guiltyparties!! There was a couple of times I thought I was going to be gone for certain, just glad the cards held up for me :)
Awesome job, hope to see you around the @spl!
Thank you @blackvapor!! I only just discovered @lucksacks.com, and I will be visiting and playing there as much as I can, for certain !!
That said, I now am trying to learn how the Leagues work, and how one can get into them, so if you have any tips for me on that aspect, I welcome to hear all about it!! Thanks!!
Congrats on the win @libby-stories. You hit the nail on the head, being part of the lucksacks community is a lot of fun. And the chance to win some crypto is a nice bonus. Good luck going forward.
Hi @chops316,
Thank you!! Yes, I can totally agree with that statement there for sure. Today was actually my first day at the poker room, and I really did have a blast playing the game.
Never thought I would make it to the final table, and then to go on to take first place, and as you said winning crypto was certainly nice too.
I look forward to playing there a lot more!!
It was an amazing tournament, this entire week I have been running very well in the SPL tournaments, with 3 final tables in just 2 days.
What a pleasure to play such a great tournament dedicated to a special day, like I said when you beated me, you deserved it!
Btw, you won SBD worth more than your entire account :D; Great way to boost your first steps in Steemit.
Hi @diogosantos !!!
I could not agree with you more, it really was an amazing tournament indeed!! Congrats on all your previous wins on the other SPL tournaments too, that is excellent!!
Thank you for playing such an intense awesome game!! That being said, I really do enjoy playing poker, and yes being able to win 1st place on this special day for the International Women's Day made it even more amazing to say the least.
In addition, yes I agree my entire account is small, so winning that SBD in the poker room last night will greatly give me a boost for certain.
Now, I am only just getting started here on steemit, and then when I discovered the poker room during one of my daily posts, all I can say is this entire community along with playing poker makes this a place, or should I say 2 places I will be spending a lot of time in :)
Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to seeing you at the tables again real soon!!
One of the best tournaments that I ever played in SPL, such in terms of prizes and in terms of motivation (special day).
Good luck with your journey here on steemit, if I can help you, you know where to find me.
Hope to see you soon too!!
Thank you @diogosantos, I do appreciate your offer for help, and I just might be taking you up on that offer for help in the near future, as I am still learning the ropes here. and trying to figure out the best way to get more eyes on my blog posts and how it all works here in general. I am still studying it all :)
In addtion, I totally agree, on that part of SPL special day comment you made for sure!!!
That being said, I did notice that there are not a lot of players over at the poker room, so is it still early days for that site? Or just that a lot are not aware that it exists?
Either way, I know I for certain will be playing there a lot now that I discovered it:)
See ya soon!!!
I think the maximum amount of players that I saw in a tournament was around 75... Answering to your question(s), I think it is a little bit of both, Steemit is growing and so is SPL, while not every single one is interested in play poker, I believe many have not yet found this great project.
Hiya!!
Thank you kindly for taking the time to answer those questions for me appreciate it!! Yes I thought it might just be early days for this great project to take off.
I know I only actually learned of it via reading a post done by @oendertuerk and joined it that way.
However, I do hope all who read this post will go to his link in the post too and join @spl so we can get more and more into the poker game for sure!!
Can you tell just a bit that I like playing poker :) , and I will most certainly promote this great project they started for steemit users where I can for sure!!
Thanks again @diogosantos, see you at the tables again real soon !!
I haven't tried poker....i little bit sure that in short span of time i will not be a winner.....hahaha
By the way it seems like you are doing good....keep it up brother👍
Hi @shubham512,
It was my first time at this poker room, and I had a blast!! You should check them out, as it is a welcoming atmosphere, and you can also win some crypto SBD too, makes it a win-win place.
Never say never, I never imaged getting to the final table let alone taking first place, but all is possible!! Welcome.
Well played! Congratulations on your win :-)
Hi @josefinemk,
Thank you!!! It was a fantastic night for me for certain!!
Nice, I never knew there was a poker league here. That is something I will be checking out for sure.
Hi @rentmoney, thanks for stopping by my post, welcome!! Yes I only learned about it recently myself, they have daily freerolls, on there, and once you write up your introduce myself post, and join I am certain you will have a great time, and want to stay. The players are real nice, even when their hand gets beaten.
See ya soon at the table!!
