Part 1)

I have experience in teaching others and have a knack in doing so
I am organized and ensure that my work is completed perfectly
I am honest and trustworthy in my work
I can be a leader when called upon to do so
I have a persuasive personality which enables me to attain my goals

Part 2)

Q: What do you think my skills, talents, or knowledge entail?

Interviewee #1)

I think you're a motivated individual who possesses a lot of strengths. I would say that from experience, you are a loyal person who enjoys helping people. You also have a good amount of knowledge about a number of items, as well as talent in some specific areas, like your business plan.

Interviewee #2)

If I had to describe you to someone, I would say that you're a person who is driven to be successful, even though you have experienced a number of setbacks in your life. You work hard for your goals, are a trustworthy friend, and can shoulder a lot of emotional burden. You can see your weaknesses clearly and try to remedy those setbacks.

Interviewee #3)

You are definitely a person who contains a moral compass, most likely from your upbringing as a missionary kid. I see all the time that you deal honestly with life and seek to be open to other individuals. Also, you care deeply about people that are close to you.

Interviewee #4)

You're a very kind person and friend who cares a lot about the close friends and family around you. You're also a person who people can come to to talk to and you listen well. Even still, you sometimes have trouble connecting on an emotional level and are hard to get to know. But once those barriers are broken you are a valuable friend.

Interviewee #5)

I am fully aware of your capabilities, be it in school or work or dealings with the people around you. You are also a person who takes the time to help people in need. To be fair, however, you have some trouble communicating regularly and in a timely manner. Everyone has weaknesses that they can point to easily, so I am not trying to single you out.

Conclusion:

All five of these friends and family proved to be very nice in their interviews, and only after a significant amount of prodding did some of them produce information on me that was not so great. For instance, they told me that I have trouble communicating my problems and sharing about my life as well as communicating when not in person. I was aware of those issues but not fully aware that it was maybe a hindrance to my relationships. Overall, however, the interviewees were very generous in their assessments.

Reflection:

Though I can see what those people were getting at in describing me, I oftentimes find myself severely doubting my skills, talents, and ambitions. Be it in school or work or my future career, I know I have a lot of strengths that they highlighted, but don't see myself in the same light. I know I have MANY more weaknesses than strengths, and I am fully aware that the only way to overcome those weaknesses is to accentuate on my strengths to drown them out. I would correct some of them in saying that though I occasionally find myself enjoying helping people, it is often a struggle to bring myself to do it regularly. I'm also a lazy person, and I didn't see anybody mention that! In conclusion, I agree with some of their assessments, but above all, they are just people who care about me and want to encourage me in my current situation.
