Mmmm Well.... let's see ...
Galicia (Galiza) is a Country, but not a State and have two official languages: Galician and Spanish:

I think that it is more than a "regional" language.

  • " is an autonomous community of Spain and historic nationality under Spanish law.[1] Located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula,"

  • Two languages are official and widely used today in Galicia: the native Galician, a Romance language closely related to Portuguese, with which it shares Galician-Portuguese medieval literature, and the Spanish language, usually known locally as Castilian. 56% of the Galician population speak Galician as their first language, while 43% speak more in Castilian

As galician I will be deeply grateful that the galician (official language, not regional) is included in the next revision of your article.

If you do not, we'll still having an official language for the rest of the world except in "Steemit Planet".
It will no matter. We will survive!!! 😉
(and don't worry. Already stopped. I would like you see it with our eyes.)

PS: Maintain this serious, critical and documented line of work:
Kind Regards from Galiza.

Galiza, Galicia, Galician

But this article is not about autonomous communities. Even on Galicia Wiki you can find information Country: Spain. Galicia is also not listed on List of sovereign states and dependent territories in Europe.

Maybe next time I will include some of the biggest communities like Galician :)

True:

Galiza is not a sovereign state.

This is a long (our) political battle.
It may be necessary to discuss the concepts of Country and State, but letś leave it for another time.

Thank you for your patiente.

This is for you. Posts till 25th May.

Galician

Official language in: Galicia (Spain)
Native speakers: 2.4 million (2012)

Summary

There are eight Galician posts on Steemit in May and only three of them have a language-like tag. There is some potential in creating a community, but they need more authors and better organisation. It’s hard to say in what direction it will go.

BETTER NOT continue publishing with tag:

  • combination of native names of languages: galego-portugues.

NOT suggested tags for the community:

  • English and native name of community: galicia (currently no non-Galician posts but they will come in future),
  • based on language ISO: gl (multiple meanings).

Continue publishing with tag:

  • native name of language: galego.

Other suggested tags for the community:

  • English name of language: galician,
  • native name of community: galiza,
  • based on language ISO: glg,
  • based on community TLD: gal.

A lot of thanks of all galician speakers.
I had already contemplated that the tag #galego-portugues was a bad idea.
Thanks Again.

I think, any language, independent of in which state it is spoken, should be listed as long ad there is a (considerable) user base in steemit.

It was hard enough to find posts in all official languages. I can't imagine doing the same for all European languages...

I share yout view about increased complexity
