Steemit Suggestion: Twitter Type Function?

in #steemit7 years ago

Please let me know if this is something that is already planned in the future.

My problem

It's hard for me to think of stories to write on Steemit. It seems the expectations of people using Steemit is to write long, creative posts about things that people can relate to or find interesting.

As you can see, I haven't posted in about three weeks as I've essentially run out of ideas for posts. However, I still post on twitter very often, mostly because I can post my daily thoughts and things I find funny without being a big nuisance to everyone's feed. However, if I were to do this on Steemit, there would be too much to keep up with and I would feel like I'm being annoying. I wouldn't want to use Steemit to only post long opinion pieces.

My Suggestion

My suggestion would be two separate post types: "Stories" and "Thoughts." Stories would be the regular Reddit/Facebook type posts that Steemit has come to know and love, and Thoughts would be small posts in which you could share small pieces of information without having to make a whole story.

Am I making sense? Steemit could have a tab where you switch between Stories and Thoughts so your feed wouldn't be cluttered.

For example, if I wanted to share a joke or opinion about a sports game, I wouldn't want to annoy my followers with constant small updates.

Basically I'm talking about a twitter type feed. Twitter has a good idea going, but the leadership behind the company is taking it nowhere.

Let me know what you think about this.
