Django Reinhardt - The Unique Jazz Guitarist
Hello!
It's not enough to say that Django Reinhardt is just a unique guitarist. He's a splendid musician and about his skills and talents there were legends.
The list of songs that you must listen to:
D. Reinhardt is a French jazz guitar virtuoso, one of the founders of the jazz-manouche style
The musician is a real gypsy. That is why his compositions are filled with playful tunes, rhythms and impeccable style of playing the unchanging guitar.
The first rumours about future musician's talent appeared when Django was only a child.
One day, for a bet Django managed to replay 17 melodies with banjo, which he had previously heard had been played by accordion.
Moreover, at the age of 18, Django suffered from a fire: on his left hand only three fingers were intact: a thumb, an index and a middle finger. Being bedridden for a year and a half, Django received a guitar from his younger brother. With perseverance, he began to master the instrument anew, developing a new playing technique : the musician played with two fingers, while engaging his 2 crippled fingers - little finger — for E, and ring finger — for B.
In the 1930's things went up: familiarity with well-known Parisian musicians, the formation of Quintette du Hot Club de France, the first recordings of songs, getting public recognition. The peak of popularity was in 1945 - then jazz personified opposition and liberation. And in 1946 Django Reinhardt went on a tour to the United States with Duke Ellington himself.
The war is over, changes has begun. Music wasn't an exception, because another beloved music style "bepop" replaced beloved "jazz". While the swing era was fading, the Django Reinhardt club closed.
Even if Django R. in the early 50's devoted himself to painting, it's unlikely that he put aside his one and only guitar.
Unfortunately, this outstanding musician died very early. He was 43 years old. However, the contribution to the development of the jazz and muisic Django Reinhardt left us - they are unforgettable and infinitely loved.
The first time I heard about this musician about 6 years ago. Of course, I immediately loved his music: every time I turn on D. Reinhardt's melodies, feels like I listen to it for the first time. These melodies are rich in different feelings, but the most important thing for me, is that this composer’s music makes me more cheerful at least for one day.
If you haven't heard about this musician, then I hope you will definitely listen to his music and appreciate it!
