Sagenhaftes Ruhrgebiet

Ich war das Wochenende in der Stadt Bochum und da fand ich diese Statur.

Von 1850 bis 1877 war Fritz Kortebusch der hüter von Vieh der ehemaligen Bürger Bochum´s.
Er leitete das Vieh zur Vöde, der ehemaligen Gemeindeweide (das der heutige Stadtpark in Bochum ist) dazu zur den Trinkstellen an der Trankgasse.

Das erste Kuhhirten-Denkmal von 1908 wurde während des Zweiten Weltkriegs für die Rüstungsproduktion eingeschmolzen. Damit war leider das Original verschwunden.
1962 wurde die Statur neu gemacht vom Bochumer Bildhauer Walter Kruse und ist bis heute eine Symbolfigur in der Bochumer Innenstadt.

-From 1850 to 1877 Fritz Kortebusch was the guardian of cattle of the former citizens of Bochum.
He led the cattle to Vöde, the former municipal willow (which is today's city park in Bochum) to the drinking stations on the Trankgasse.

The first cowherd monument of 1908 was melted down during the Second World War for armaments production. Unfortunately, the original was gone.
In 1962, the statue was redone by Bochum sculptor Walter Kruse and is still a symbol in Bochum's city center.
