Too many people are trying to make Steem by posting completely senseless comments
I have noticed that very many people are trying to make Steem by replying to posts with comments like: "I agree with your post," "I like your ideas," and similar simple (non)statements, in an effort to game the system.
Isn't this a flaw in the whole steemit model? There are too many "hey look at me" comments being posted that add no value to a discussion. It seems to me that way too many people are just here to game the system.
Hey...I agree with your post and I like your ideas. :)
Have an up-vote on me for the lols, this is the one time where an "I agree with your post" reply is actually legit.
I agree with this reply and I also like your ideas :)
joking aside, imagine if this phrase became a trend or a meem lol
Hey... I agree with your post and I like your ideas. :)
haha
I agree with your post and I like your ideas. :)
I think people with shit posts and shit replies will organically be ignored and the good posts and replies will be voted up. I think the free market will take care of it, if the white paper works as planned.
The issue is that all it takes is for a "dolphin" or "whale" to upvote a comment, even a silly one, and everyone else follows suit by just looking at the dollar value the comment has made.
oow that's sh*t.. unless I'm missing something. =/
Sorry I'm new here, is there some protocol where the use of certain four letter words and creative French is not allowed? Sort of a legitimate question and sort of a =/ on my part. Sometimes the adjective that is just right is sh*t.
ah no, not as far as I know.. it's just me being me. =D
Coinz is correct. let the steem eco system do its job.
It would be a flaw if they were getting paid for it. Worthless comments don't get paid. Do they? Ok some cases might be the exception that confirm the rule, but in general I don't think so. Gaming the system would require more than idiotic comments.
your comments are not worth anything unless someone votes on the comment. So saying something worthless with no votes stays worthless.
Yes, but many people (whales/dolphins) are upvoting comments that add no value.
I thought that wouldn't add value or pay out unless it reaches a certain amount of vote?! (even if the initial voter was a whale) making it a risk for people who has 'more to lose'? Or did I get this wrong.. is there no risk here. just the more you have the more you earn (or make others earn) bubble?
It doesn't seem to work like that. Apparently, as soon as a large player give you a vote up, the dollar reward jumps up dramatically.
hmm... maybe there is an explanation on this.. have you checked the whitepaper (I haven't finished reading going slow).. not saying you're mistaken I'm still a newbie =)
There is a section about vote power, starts around page 16 /17... you might find it interesting =) https://steem.io/SteemWhitePaper.pdf
