SteemPages.com - A Steemit Business & Project Directory [Beta]

in #steemit8 years ago

Hey steemians,

I hope you had a great weekend and get an ever better start of this week!

I just wanted to show you SteemPages.com, a project that I have been working on for a while. SteemPages.com is a steem and steemit directory much like Yellowpages, or at least the goal is to get there. The site is currently in early beta but already got the main functionalities in place.

If you are a steem/steemit business, website, API or tool provider I would be very glad if you would check the site out, become a member and maybe create a listing.

If you're a steemit user feel free to add yourself to the steem users category. Add as much information as you feel suited without compromising your own privacy policy :D It might be a great way for others to get in contact with you or the other way around. Maybe you could get new connections and together work towards your next big steemit collaboration.

However, only add yourself, or your project/business. SteemPages currently don't have a "claim listing" functionality yet, but one is in the making.

To get the site of the ground I have added a few of the most popular projects to the directory.  @xeroc 's piston.web (a really cool steemit GUI)  is already added among others. I would be so happy to see your project added also!

Features

  • Listings add/edit
  • Listings on map
  • Categories & sub-categories
  • Profile page with avatar upload, reviews, and listings moderation
  • Listing location (currently only supports US cities and states)

The site locations currently only cover US cities and states. I am currently looking to buy more SQL databases with other countries, states, and cities. (Or does anyone know if there are some free options out there?)

Todos

  • Upload cities and states for all countries in the world (The site currently covers the United States only)
  • Add specific fields to specific categories (right now all categories contain the same fields. Some fields are not appropriate for some categories)
  • Add subcategories to categories that need it. (As the site grows and more listings are added this will be needed)
  • Improve & structure listings template for better usability.
  • Create some type of steemit authentication for easier signup (might add fab, Google, and Reddit if people would like it).
  • Add trending steemit post feeds to the site to spread more awareness of steemit.com.
  • Create public profile pages containing steemit user info and latest posts.
  • Add https/SSL certificate (should be ready within 72h or less, depending on DNS propagation)

Once again, keep in mind that this is the very early beta stage. So please don't be too harsh with your judgment. Instead, share your ideas and point out the bugs so I can improve the site.

I hope you like it, and that I see your project or business added soon!

I don't really understand the low votes and attention, very interesting project by the way.

I don't really understand myself, was devastated until I got your comment! @moonjelly , thanks for your kind words and upvote!!

Hey @millen and @moonjelly
Totally in agreement. The whole ecosystem is so brand spankin new it can be frustrating trying to find Steem/Steemit related info. This could prove to be quite useful.

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 8.3 and reading ease of 71%. This puts the writing level on par with Leo Tolstoy and David Foster Wallace.
