Open letter to Jeff Berwick
I joined after seeing you talk about it on facebook. As a long time subscriber of your website, I'll say this:
All the people complaining and criticizing the fact that you make a ton of money are obviously just spiteful little people. My one issue is that, you produce a lot of well written content on other platforms. When are you going to start bringing some of that kind of content to this site, instead of talking about how easy you are finding making money on Steemit? I say this at the risk of sounding like on of "those" guys.
Sincerely,
A long time follower
I think Jeff most recent post addressed his journey so far. He didn't really understand the power of Steemit and has been blown away by the roller coaster first week on here. One thing I'll say is his dedication to create at least one new blog a day is commendable.
He's been here a week. I've been here for a little over 4 weeks. It is a paradigm shift, it takes a bit for thinking to adapt to a totally new concept. So I consider it him still finding his steem legs. He has inspired a lot of people to come here like yourself. That is important for this platform. The best thing you can do is write original stuff. If you link to videos you are interested in on youtube, images, etc be sure to credit them and add some of your own thoughts and that works. Better yet make your own things. Or simply vote and comment on other things.
Most of all ENJOY. Do what you enjoy, and don't focus on the money, write/create things you know and love, and let what happens happen.
Glad to have you here, and best of luck on your steeming.
I get that, I've written on a few different platforms, and had a couple of articles published (Not to the extent of Jeff of course!), I just figured that the people who want to see him on here, want to see the content he is known for. Of course I say all this at the risk of sounding like one of "those" guys bagging on the whale, but that isnt my intention.
Yeah I didn't read anything into your post. You just stated you were new. While this is like other platforms in some ways it has some new and exciting things that you just kind of pick up. Other than the down voters that happen (and @dantheman is working on some fixes to reduce that negative experience) this platform is surprisingly civil. We've talked about a lot of controversial topics without descending into the sewer/trash talk that is common when talking about such things on other platforms. It is a pretty hopeful place. I look forward to seeing your work. EDIT: An an introduceyourself post seems to be a pretty common first step. hint EDIT 2: Nevermind I see you already did that. :)
Thanks for the advice. It does appear to be a place with a lot of potential, especially for incentivizing people to create content. I guess the hard part is getting off the first floor so to speak.
I've listen to alot of jeff's videos and I must say he needs to bring some of that content to the steem community. There is alot of unbelievable b.s. going on around the world and Jeff has a great knowledge into "making money" during these episodes of so called terror acts accomplished by ---"still trying to figure out who the tormentors are" maybe our very own government." It's getting harder to trust the @#+*@# you get the idea. Anyway, it would be some great reading should he decide to transfer that knowledge over to the steemit community.
I am confident he will. It's been only a week and what a crazy week at that! His reintroduction today I see as him offering his credentials for exactly what your asking for.
Great info for a new guy like myself
