My camping spot a few weeks back in upstate New York!
We could hear the coyotes howling at night, and had to lock our food up to prevent bears coming in.., but it was worth it to wake up, get out of the tent and see this.

I had a pack of coyotes calling very close to me the first time I was ever back-country camping. Had a bear come crashing through nearby the site earlier while we set the camp up. It was thrilling! I will say this though, you should have your food in a bear-bag and properly hung, but otherwise really don't have anything to worry about with black bears and definitely not with coyotes.
