Whats up with These random comments being left on Posts?

in #steemit8 years ago

So recently I've been noticing completely random comments appearing on posts, not just mine, but other peoples as well. They tend to not have anything to do with the subject of the post and they tend to come completely out of the blue.

Does anyone know what it is? is it someone trying to make a quick buck by being the first to comment or just by spamming everything see?

Don't take it personally. We just like to haze newbies. I've read some of your stuff and you are truly suffering from a whale-patron deficiency. I'm just a minnow and therefore of no help. Nonetheless, I upvoted this article not so much as a self-destructive act but more as a token (pun intended) of my appreciation for your unappreciated body of work. Keep on slogging; tomorrow is another day...

Follow me for company in the world of Steemit anonymity.

o-oh. Well thanks! :D I think... But i have followed you and will be having a look through your posts.
Also please explain whale-patron deficiency, Do you mean I haven't been lucky enough to have a whale vote me up?

First of all my stuff ain't that great. My feeds may be of interest however; that is your decision. The entities in my feed are making money, if that is a measure of worth.

Whale Deficiency

If a whale upvotes your post, a boatload of Steem drops out of the blue into your lap. 1000s of dollars of actual money are yours to keep. If you don't have a whale dropping loot into your lap (upvoting your post) then you are a financially challenged minnow like me.

It seems that the science related one you made recently is your most popular! that's good, it seems quite specific so I assume its something you're interested in.
And as for the whale thing, maybe well be lucky some day, in the mean time I'm quite content going as I am. Mixing up my content and what not.

You nailed it about science...

As for Steemit, John Paul Jones said:

It seems to be a law of nature, inflexible and inexorable, that those who will not risk cannot win.

These comments are mostly left by bots.

Oh really. What do they get out of it though? Its not like someones going to vote up what theyre saying so they wont get any sort of curation reward.

@mrkuujo: Since you were so bold as to follow me, here is an interesting article:

Any thoughts?

I just read through that whole post and I have to say. This guy is very observant, I feel like he has a history with black hat marketing techniques. Everything he said can be related to, if you look at the trending page its pretty much an example that proves this guys whole post. I think ill be saving it for future reference.
