So the Steemit Hard Fork 19 Happened and I now have a voice!

That's right HF19 happened and I already feel the effects. I was on the edge about how I feel about Steemit voting and this hard fork has changed that. I joined Steemit last year and quickly lost interest when I picked up how unfair the voting system favors whales and dolphins. I have all of 19.23 Steem Power and clicking the up vote button on posts were just not worth my time. I would generally see no change in the post reward or comment reward to the point that I wondered what the point of me voting even is.

I would have to buy a large amount of Steem and power up in order to have any sort of say in anything. Now if I up vote a post I can actually see the post payout increase by a few cents. This is encouraging to me as I now want to buy more Steem and actually invest my time up voting other posts that I find interesting or feel deserves a reward. Even if my say is worth just a few cents, hey at least I have a say now.

I regained interest in Steem a few weeks ago and was obviously delighted when I first read about this proposed change. This change has in effect increased voting power by 4x and if I understand correctly my voting weight is proportional to my Steem Power.

I will study the changes and the effects it has had in more detail over the coming weeks and report on it including my own experience. I already bought more Steem and intent to transfer it to Steemit as soon as Poloniex has completed their upgrades as their transfers as currently disabled.
