Steemit's First BAND LAUNCH + Free Single Download (EXCLUSIVE)

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

This is the official launch of our band Observer Effect with the debut single: The Shelf.

That's right Steemit: You're breaking your first band.

We aren't doing a gig launch, we're not jumping on a local radio station and we're definitely not launching on Facebook. We haven't released any music up to now. This is the genuine launch party. Cheers!

Not only are we bringing you guys our debut single before anyone else (and we have about 9,000 followers on other social networks waiting for it)... we're also going to give it to you for free.

Observer Effect is a three piece folk rock band who are fully independent, original and based in Brisbane, Australia.

We are:

Oliver Braithwaite (@oliverb) - Songwriter, all vocals, rhythm guitar, keys, sequencing & coffee maker.

Moin Silva - Lead guitar & band stylist.

Mark Davies - Upright bass, bass guitar, bass drum & bass fisherman.

And now the moment you didn't know you'd been waiting for...

Drum roll please... wait for it... cannons firing and stuff exploding!

Ladies & gentlemen, here is:

Would you mind if we used some small parts of this song for our podcast intro/outro music this week? We'll make sure to give credit and link back to you.

We're wanting to incorporate original music from steemit users into the show. No worries if you prefer not :)

Yeah - go for it. Please also provide people with the Spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/track/7k2SrWAb0WFXXRt4htm9Au

Ty! I'll make sure we've got both steemit and Spotify: )

Wanted to let you know we posted the podcast this morn with your song included: here
We made sure to link this post and your spotify page :)
Thanks for letting up include your music!

Thanks so much.

:) np, and thank you! Hehe
Great song!

Yeah man - play away. Just tell the listeners where they can go to get the song etc :-)

Thank you and of course I will link to this page. Hey I followed the instructions to join your mailing list and the response never came, and of course I checked my folders, spam Could you please email me the mp3 to forward to my producer? Or mp3s if you have other songs for consideration. And the links to promote your main site. Thanks! guymalone@gmail.com

Yeah... I can't see you on the list. Can you try to sign up again please? What should happen is that you get the verification link which you click, then you're taken straight to the MP3 download page. I'll email you the MP3 link anyway, but I'd appreciate it if you'd have another go, to see if it's working.

Thanks! Yes I got the email from you with the mp3 page and downloaded it... but negative on the mailing list... I filled it out again, and 30 minutes have passed now, nothing!

I like it. The production is really clear and mixed well.

Thanks! Spent ages on the mixing and mastering.

Sounds nice and mellow, I like it! Hope you hear more from you guys. Props for being the first band to use Steemit like this, I hope it works out well for you!

Thanks @thefinanceguy. Fingers crossed!

Good stuff man! Got some good images in here and a good title (love that GIF).
Here are some tips for formatting your posts:
to bold - text
to italicize - text
to make header -## text (space before)

nice sounds. good work.

Thanks mate.

I think somehow you put in a youtube link as a image at the end and that seems not working very well.

Hi @ace108. I don't know that we have any control over that. I just pasted the YouTube link into the editor and this is how it rendered.

if you use the Editor, one of the icon is for insert image and another is for insert link.
I suggest you should try insert link and paste the link into the space.
Personally, I work with HTML more than the Editor.
Good luck with this. :-)

You're right - the html embed works better than allowing Steemit to convert the link to embed natively.

Good stuff.
Good luck guys,
Tweeted and passed the link on to a few friends who I think will enjoy this.

Thanks @phoenixmaid - sharing means a lot to an indie band.

I like it! Thank you for a good song @oliverb!
