Have you noticed I've not been posting much? Behind the scenes I've been working on this little curation blog. Have a look.
This is far from complete, but about half-way done. Every day (almost) there's a new digest of 10-50 articles curated together into this easy to read little online magazine. Then I post it around on social media. I'm going to start posting them here too.
I went a bit crazy and hooked up Steem. I figure this would be overall good in the long run for my #steemtipathon project anyway, and compliment the other sites going up to help with that.
Once I'm done with this, it probably won't be so personalized. But for now, it is. Perhaps one day I'll have a few highly trusted friends help me with the curation of it. For now, I'm grabbing articles from Twitter, using a Bookmarklet, and via RSS.
RSS you say? Well, Streemian is broken. So, boom-shaka-laka...
This is quite a $tune$ I'm playing here.
Many people invest in Steem. I thought it would be interesting to see what happens if I invest in Steemians.
The RSS feeds are part of a larger idea as well. They'll be mashing up all over social media (Reddit, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.), Discord, and other blockchains. Free backlinks. Oh, and Podcasts. Oh! And Videos. OH, and more to come.
No, not yours. I have not jacked your page and made it a feed.
So how do you get curated to this fancy (and about to get much fancier) digest and sprinkled all over the web?
EASY!
- Post your articles on Twitter and tag them #steemit
- Post your articles anywhere on Reddit and leave the — Steemit in the title.
If you do one of those things, I will discover your content. There's no guarantee that I will include it in that day's digest, but I will discover it for sure.
Why this? After reading a lot of posts from @acidyo about Reddit and seeing the work that @crimsonclad is doing with @followbtcnews to involve Reddit, Twitter, Discord, Telegram; I'm thinking, "Hey, this can go both ways."
Aside from driving traffic with Syndication, there is also- ADS. Yep. But more on that later 'gator.
More secret sauce is in the sandwich as well — I'm happy to say, #SteemTipathon is moving forward. Big thanks to FollowBTCNews for getting the scripts refined. I'm so happy two successful campaign tests wen't so well.
Where I lucked up was that the domains I got for my onboarding adventures were affordable. $1 for the first year.
And my son Joey (8) is working on a Steem Roblox Game >_<

Yes! Now there is another reason to post Steem posts on Twitter and Reddit. It should also work for links from other sites and blockchains also, as long as the Tweet is hashtagged #steemit or the Reddit-link has steemit in the title. Will work on other tags, but this is a start. The more data I have to work with, the more testing I can do.
So it's a steem post I share to twitter and hashtag #steemit?
Yes. Well, any post on the Steem Blockchain regardless of domain. It can be a link to busy, dtube, zapple, decentmemes, etc. It just has to be tagged #steemit for now and it will look to see if the domain is a steem interface that I've approved- at least for now. Most of the interfaces in steemprojects.com is okay. Give it a try though. It's a work in progress.
Also, if you write about Steem on another platform (like medium or minds) and post it to twitter with the tag #steemit, it should get aggregated to me. Again, work-in-progress.
It aint for free but this really can turn into something!

This is also an amazing magazine model to extend the displaced project to the wider non-steemian audience! However, that also looks more like a full-time editing gig.
Omi you never cease to amaze and well done for getting the grind in now, this is perfect opportunity to gain some ground before others start imitating your superb social ingenuity! 🤓
@kenistyles it's not a full time editing gig. Most of it is automated. I welcome anyone to innovate the idea, do it better than I, run with it, etc. I learn from others and others learn from me. I'm far from the best at this. I'm just willing to take some action. I appreciate the confidence in me and the support, truly. It's motivating. My kids have been a big motivation as well; since I got them started with crypto, it's been synergistic. Everything is an opportunity to teach them something else and they absorb it like a sponge. Also, it gives my son (Joe) something to participate in. Since he too can "rep" for certain blockchains (kind of like sports lol) he has found fun in making little programs and stuff. He likes that he can use the old blockchain logo in his game development and stuff. So it all comes together. :) Thank you for noticing.

Yeah for the magazine project @artemislives and I are working on it's more hands on seeing as the automation aspect still requires other humans who have very little resources to provide some material that we can get up to publishing standard. Not sure I should speak too much on it out here, but by all means I'm sure she and I would gladly bat some ideas around in the group. At the moment we're focused on it being a steem based mag. Cool. I will start using the #steemit tag on Twitter when I share posts there, both mine and other people's.
Is that practical? I'd love to have a way to dump my posts onto one of my domains, but I haven't found a nice method for it.
I didn't want to assume I could create a feed from someone else blog directly and use it without permission.♥️ That's why I went the route of just curating links already publicly shared on Social Media, considering sharing a link on those sites (by their license) constitutes the right of other users to re-share the URL/meta-data. Otherwise I would have to ask each person for permission I think (I think? — not sure... and because not sure, error on safe side. I don't want to hear ANYONE's mouth that I'm capitalizing off their feed or anything negative.... /end rant/)
I was thinking of maybe subleasing some of the feeds, since they're ad free and pull more than the free version of the feeds... but I'm not sure what's reasonable to ask for setting them up and all that. They still stay under my own account and stuff. And I don't like to have people relying on me in that way (and give them another reason to talk smack if something goes wrong lol.)
The site I'm using is FetchRSS and the basic account is 25 feeds for $5USD/month or 250 for $10USD/month. There's also a free version which isn't ad free but still good.🌈♥️😍
I hear that. If for some reason you ever want to use something of mine, please feel free to do so; I don't usually share things like Steem-centric posts to Twitter because my audience there really doesn't care, not because I don't want it shared. Everything should go as far as it can as far as I'm concerned.
It looks like the RSS option doesn't do what I would really like, which is take whole posts and put them onto my own domain so that people who aren't on Steem could read them. I could feed in the index but I'm not sure that's worth all that much. It's much more useful for the sort of thing you're doing.
You can do that with js I think. There was a tutorial around here. Is it another blog post/page, static page, or something else?
At the moment it's an empty domain, so it could be pretty much anything.
