10 Tips for Writing a Winning Steemit Post - Make More Money with Steemit Today!
Is there a recipe to creating a winning Steemit post that will make you lots of money? I think there is! Using my experience in the World of Internet Marketing and with a bit of common sense I will outline my top tips for creating a killer post every time.
Popular Sections
To make the most money from Steemit, you should analyse which sections of Steemit have the highest payouts and the most replies. This will give you an idea of who you should be writing for and who your target audience will be.
Comments
Comments will play an important role for your article. They will help to get a discussion going where people will return time and time again to communicate with each other. It is also a chance for you to interact with your audience and for them to give you their feedback on your post. They may even mention points you did not think about. A good way to start a discussion is to simply ask them for their opinion on the subject. Asking someone to do something is called a “Call to Action” in the marketing world. Once you get a few articles under your belt you will start get a feel for which articles will be good for getting lots of comments. By offering help in the comments section you are further increasing your up vote rate.
Call to Action (CTAs)
A Call to Action is just an instruction that is used to provoke an immediate response. You will have heard it on TV adverts and on the internet. For example, “call now”, “add to cart” or “buy it now”. A good call to action to use on Steemit might be “upvote if you found the article helpful”. By using a call to action you are trying to increase the number of people doing what you want them to do (in this case upvoting your Steemit post). You would be surprised at just how effective CTAs are on people.
Headlines
The headline or article title should be short and grab people’s attention. The most important words should be put at the start as people tend to quickly scan through the list of published articles.
Article introduction
Since Steemit also shows the start of an article as well as the title you should use the beginning of the article in much the same way as the headline. It should also capture the reader’s attention and should complement the title. It should not just be a repeat of the article title. This would be wasted space which could be better spent to try and get more people to your article.
What kind of content?
It should go without saying that certain kinds of content will get different more upvotes than others. However, as a general rule, how to guides and tutorials, controversial posts and humorous posts will tend to do well and get upvoted more. Identifying a common problem among a certain section and writing a post of how to solve it will get more upvotes from that section’s audience.
Kickstarting your Steemit posts –Link your Steemit posts on other sites
In order to get your first few upvotes, you can link your Steemit post on other social media sites that other Steemit users frequent and ask them to vote your content if they like it. By doing this, you are giving your Steemit post an initial boost so that it does not get lost among other posts.
Photos, Pics and Diagrams
Photos should be used to make your posts more exciting or images can be used to help explain an idea more effectively than words. Try not to put too many pictures in a post as some users could get annoyed with scrolling down. If you think having an image will enhance your post, you should add it.
Tags
Tags are used to help categorise your content. The tags you use should be relevant to the content of your Steemit article. It will help get your target audience to your post who will in turn be more likely to vote up your content.
Content: Quality over Quantity
Some users might feel they need to write as often as possible in order to maximise their income. Personally, I think this is the wrong outlook to have. While writing lots of posts gives you more potential for making more money, I think that having a few well written and posts tailored to a specific audience has the potential to bring in more money.
Like I said in the introduction, some of this is just common sense. However, I do hope that some of these points will help you to make more money from your Steemit posts. If they do, I would love to read about it in the comments section and then I’ll know I’ve helped someone out.
