MICROSOFT EDGE APPLICATION ALREADY DETECTS FAKE NEWS
Edge is not considered the most popular browser on the planet. But Microsoft has been constantly striving to polish its performance, particularly in its mobile version.
The most recent update is an example of this. Where NewsGuard is integrated, a platform that searches for and detects information that can be considered false or manipulated.
Those who download the latest version of Edge will automatically get this add-on. All as a product of Microsoft's Defending Democracy cooperation program.
The fake news detector is not activated by default when the update is installed. So it will be necessary to enter the configuration menu.
Once there you only have to activate the News Rating option, to start using the NewsGuard filter which is quite simple and basically works as a kind of Metacritic where it gives a trust rating to the page that hosts a certain news.
At the moment, this false news detector works only with sites in the United States or written in English.
