i was one among d many to join the steemit world yesterday. i guess the network is getting bigger and will soon compete with biggest players on the internet ! cheers :)
I am one of the yesterday created new accounts AND I love posts like yours, giving stats about development of the community ! Upvoted and following..
Really nice. Anyone know where all those users came from suddenly yesterday?
They were likely waiting in the queue while Steemit Inc worked out how to filter the most recent bot registration attacks.
@demotruk could you elaborate ? I just did a search and cannot find any reference to these attacks ?
It has been mentioned by @ned in steemit.chat. The registration process is always being attacked by bots, who are trying to create hundreds or thousands of accounts at Steemit Inc's expense. Or they may just be engaged in a form of DOS attack.
You can see it in the graphs of new user accounts. Every few days they suddenly grind to a halt. Then Steemit fixes it for a while but it happens again when the attackers update their attack.
Likely, from the waitlist.
A bunch of my friends all got in at once.

Things are looking good for STEEMIT COMMUNITY... keep on rockin it! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Very nice! With big YouTubers like @theywillkillyou going all in, the only thing that can slow us down is scaling of the registration process (and dealing with bots).
Yes, true! Hopefully this will be fixed asap...
The way it is now, it's an arms race and will keep breaking each time it's fixed.
@ned has said they will incentivize users to sponsor and register accounts ourselves though, that may be a long term solution.
An excellent day! I guess the account approval staff were working their backsides off to clear the weekend back-log?!
I think so too!
the look of success!:)
Data, data, data! Glad to see a stacked post, thanks Pablo!
