We need to get Tim Ferriss to Steemit!

in #steemit7 years ago

I see lots of excitement around here when we get some big YouTube personalities around here. This place was a buzz when @Hodgetwins and @furious-pete showed up last week, but I think if we really want to see this place blow up, we need to set our sights for the likes of Tim Ferriss around here.

You wanna talk about influence this guy has it

If you not familiar with him, he's a 5 times New York Times best selling author, has a hugely popular blog, he has one of the most popular podcasts of all time with over 200 million downloads. The list could really go on an on. He's was previously rated the 7th most powerful online personality. They have even coined the term the "Tim Ferriss Effect" in the past, because anything he mentioned instantly sells out or becomes hugely popular.

He really invented the term "lifestyle design" and advocated for working less and living more and finding ways to generate passive income. I mean that is exactly what so many people here on steemit are trying to achieve.

I've been following him for years, when some girl I met while traveling suggested his first book "The Four Hour Workweek" Since then his podcast and other writing has really provided so much influence for me.

He's not blogging much these days and concentrating more on his podcast and writing, so I'm not sure he would end up taking permanent residence here on steemit, but of course that would be huge.

I think a great or even better option would be for him to interview someone like @ned for his podcast and explain how steemit is changing the face of social media and this type of model is going to revolutionize the crypto industry as we know it.

I send him a tweet with the idea anyways!

I've always been surprised just how quite he stays on the cryptocurrency front, I know when he's been asked about it in the past it's usually quickly brushed over and he only has one interview regarding cryptocurrency current on his podcast and that's here with Nick Szabo

Anyways I know there are guys here with some big influence off the platform and others really trying to recruit some big users to steemit, I think the likes of Tim Ferriss would really get us noticed

That podcast about crypto and blockchain with szabo on Tim’s show was incredible! I’ve listened to it like 3 or 4 times!

Yeah, I agree man, It really made everything make sense to me and I often recommend it to people.

Yes!! They do a great job at a layman’s level of understanding it!!

Nice post resteemed

Once one major personality joins, there is the possibility of a massive snowball effect - could you imagine if Casey Neistat joined Steemit! whew!

Yeah, I was thinking pretty much any of the bloggers that Tim has interviewed, so there's many big names out there.

That's a valuable suggestion.

I love Tim and what he advocates. Plus, Im a firm believer of the work less live more shift as well.

May not be for everyone, but I'd bite the bullet.

Cheers

Yeah, it's only a matter of time, before the right person like him, really showcases the platform and brings there audience.

I totally agree with this idea. If he comes to steemit, we will be noticed and we will grow maybe too much...

I think he would be a great user base with him. I think he has a more sophisticated audience than maybe some youtubes and online personalities.

Tim's recommendation to join Steemit would be so effective it may bring the server to its knees. Things he recommends tend to sell out quickly or get bogged down with excessive traffic. Ultimately it would be a good thing though :)

The great part it, it should be able to handle it, hopefully the new hardfork is out when he does, I think the huge delay in signing up is a massive problem.

Yes, I imagine the wait would become extremely long for a while there immediately after the recommendation is made.

I listened to that podcast with Nick Szabo when it was released and I was glad he was covering the topic of cryptocurrency. I'm sure he'd be open to talking about it again and more specifically about Steemit.

We can only hope that he does one day. I know he's got some money invested in facebook, so not sure if it would be a conflict maybe.

Tim would be great, but we need to think bigger.

Emma Stone, Chance the Rapper, Michelle Obama, Julian Assange.

Imagine the possibilities.

Definitely some big names on that list! I image we'll see someone soon enough.

Yeah, you are right on. The list could goes on and on... let's see what the next big wave brings our way

Forever obsessed with Julian Assange.

Couldn't agree more. I absolutely love the guy and all his books!

Sounds like your living the life he discusses from the looks of your feed. I'm a bit slower at actually starting a business but took the leap finally last year.

Hmm i'm very slowly getting there, but no where near what he talks about. Well done you! Starting is the hardest part. :-)

Yeah, he's definitely got it all laid out and optimized to be passive. I hit a small road block with my growing family and wife that can't even see a lifestyle like that being an option, but hopefully one day.

I suppose there isn't just one way of living, you know. As long as your'e happy. That's the most important thing.

I also want Gary V. He is all about social platforms and dominates them. They both have high influence. I’ll tweet at Gary V.

Awesome man, totally worth putting the bug in their ears.
