Steemit trumps Facebook by a Mile.

I just had a huge realization. If steemit works for everyone the way it works for me, we will see a dramatic increase in valuable content generated. In my last post I already emphasized how much joy I get from posting about the things I think are interesting, but this morning it really hit me. The user experience on facebook for me is sooooo different from what I experience here and it makes me behave in a completely different way.

On facebook I was always weary about my privacy, not really into sharing long posts about things that I actually cared about. I mostly shared links of articles I found interesting, without taking the effort to elaborate my thoughts around it. I commented once in a while, usually a funny sneer or ironic statement regarding the state of the world.

How different are things on steemit. I am thinking again. Thinking about the things I find important, that I find interesting, and that I want to share. I am joyful and hopeful that this revolution will spread throughout society, so that we can see the rise of a generation of people happy to share, because their sharing is valued by the community.

To drive this point home, I made a chart of the amount of words I posted on both platforms.

I joined steemit on July 13th, only 16 days ago. But I already posted almost 6 times more than I did on facebook since January 1st. I only had one long post on facebook in early June, withouth that, the numbers would have been crushing, pretty much a horizontal blue line and a red spike starting just over two weeks ago. I haven't plotted reddit, where I posted a little more than on facebook, around 3500 words since the beginning of the year. Still, steemit is around 3x that amount in a mere 16 days. So my enthusiasm is supported by the numbers. :)

I can't wait to see where this is going.

Exactly. Most people don't write much interesting stuff themselves on facebook. Mostly posting family pictures and memes

I'm finding that I skim through Insta and FB and then i come READ Steemit!

Me too! One thing I still like about fb is that most of my friends are there (and not yet here), and that I have a feed of things that they care about enough to post something on. But that's only a matter of time and development.

An impressive share! Ive just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been doing a little research on this. And he actually bought me breakfast because I stumbled upon it for him... lol. So allow me to reword this.... Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to discuss this topic here on your steem blog

Enjoy the meal! :)

finally someone speak about it.... nice post dude...
