Steemit Most Important for Free Speech!

Many of you don't know this but yesterday October 1st 2016, a historical event has happened. The Internet itself has been handed over from the US to the United Nations.

Now this is a very tragic event, and you don't even realize how bad the situation is. The US had 1st Amendment guarantees on Free Speech, and even though some over-reaches have happened, on average there has been little interference on the Internet from the US, especially very little censorship. The only websites that the US took down were criminal ones, so it's understandable.

Now the Internet out of the hands of the US, it is under the control of the UN now, with countries like: North Korea, China and Saudi Arabia having influence, I am sure Free Speech will just be fine....

It is a horrible situation we are all in, we literally have North Korea and other oppressive countries dictating the terms of the new Internet, this is a deplorable situation.

Steemit

Steemit & Steem is now more important than ever in the battle for Free Speech. Only tyrants want to take away free speech from the people, and we literally are the witnesses of a tyrannical coup-de-etat on Free Speech.

Steemit will play a key role in the battle for Freedom, even if they take down Steemit.com, due to the nature of the Steem blockchain, anyone can put back the entire social media on backup sites like Steemit1.com or Steemit2.com and so on.

A blockchain is truly a genius way to protect data from censors, and it's sad that we have to pull our last cards from our sleeves to protect against tyranny, but this is how things are. We have to do what we can to protect our Freedoms, and it's sad that tyranny is so malignant in the society we live in today.

Until the Steem blockchain is intact, Steem and this social media will remain censorship-free, until they become so rabid to shut down the Internet entirely or change the IP system's structure to government ID authentication (which is already on the table), but hopefully until then we will have mesh networks replacing the Internet entirely with something more decentralized (away from ISP's), and replacing the UN DNS system with more decentralized protocols:

https://outernet.is/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Meshnet

https://www.reddit.com/r/I2p

https://www.reddit.com/r/Tor

(And many more... people are not caught off guard, experts have known this coming for years, so there are already projects that defend people against tyranny)

Conclusion:

Support all Freedom oriented projects, especially those that protect Free Speech, because that is one of the most important natural rights, that humans have, and government are constantly oppressing.

Forget about constitutional guarantees on Free Speech, none of them are respected anymore, we have to take the issue in our hands, and we have to defend our Freedoms ourselves, and not rely on "representatives" to do so.

Support the blockchain if you are able!

What the US has done is proposterous. This is the strategy of proponents of a one world government.

Indeed it is, free speech should be sacred, and when you look at the world, not many countries adhere to it.

Yes every constitution on earth (including the Soviet , Nazi Germany, North Korea, etc...) guarantees freedom of speech, but how many countries actually respect it?

At least the US didnt interfered with the Internet that much, I wonder if that can be said about China or North Korea?

The flame of freedom should always be on, otherwise we fall into a very dark and brutal society.

How or in what way does the U.N. have control over the internet vs anyone else?

They have control over the DNS system and can shut down website domain names.

What's the DNS system?

Its the system that converts IP addresses into website addresses. Look it up on wikipedia.
