SteemIt vs Minds: A personal story

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

I'm using both platforms now simultaneously.. I find that i'm getting more encouragement to write more on Minds than I am on SteemIt. Seems like on steemit, in order to get views and up votes and such, you have to post something about STEEM or Crypto, and while I like to read about and discuss things crypto, it seems in order to get ahead on SteemIt platform, that's all you have to talk about. Nothing meaningful, just blabber about crypto.

Minds seems like it's way more open to discussing a flurry of available topics, people are more encouraging there and they don't talk about crypto all the time and actually discuss real topics. However, on Steemit, it seems in order to get heard, you have to spend a lot of money to get started. I see posts on SteemIt talking about some shitt crypto, and getting like 1000 upvotes and over 1000 bucks in steem.. just doesn't make much sense, how can that writing, which is just someone speculating generate that many likes is beyond me. Anyways, rant off..

Does Minds have a better search system and different types of postings? Audio, video, text, image, etc?

I would say about the same, it the reward system is a bit different and seems nominally guilded instead of just based off influence alone.
