My Goal #1-Powering Down, but only when its a life changing amount.

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

We all want to win the lottery, steemit just may be it!

If you're anything like me, you missed the big cashout on bitcoin. When BC first hit the market, I had $1000 in my hand to buy in. But I had two problems, just had a baby born and I knew nothing of handling cryptocurrency over the web.

So I took the safe route and made sure I could feed my family. Our second child was just born and I was too afraid to lose any money. Now as I get older, I realize there are few opportunities to hit it big. I'm not afraid to take a chance.

After Bitcoin, several other currencies became available, but nothing like the original. Over the last three weeks after joining steemit, I've learned more about crypto then I ever thought I would know. But this is because of the steemit community willing to lend a hand and share information. As long as I know I have this kind of support, I'm willing to dig in even more.

I'm not missing this opportunity.

Steemit is the perfect platform for people like you and I who have a lot of interest in making it big in the cryptoworld but may be a little afraid to dump money into the system. We can share ideas, help each other evolve, and create an income in the long run. I'm literally looking at this as my retirement program. You should too! If you own a computer and blogging consistently on steemit, you're going to make a little extra money, keep powering it up!

Odds are, and I'm only guessing here, that you're like me and really can survive without that little bit of extra money. So why cash it out? Reinvest it into the platform that can make you more, they pay interest on the powering up side, that's why you see your steem power rise a little even without activity from you. And far as I can tell, it may even be better than a savings account with just a couple hundred bucks in it.

Unless you're whale with a heavy investment, there's no real reason to power down.

Steem is set to climb again.

The value of steem has been steadily dropping over the last week or so. So every dollar you made is currently worth just that, a dollar or so. We need steem to rise to bigger levels, and you can help do that! It's a simple buy sell system, the more people that invest in it, the more the stock will rise. If everybody powers down at the same time, it will go down. Supply and demand. The numbers of new accounts keep rising, the popularity of steemit keeps rising, and the number of investors keep rising. These are all signs that steem is set to explode.

What if it hits that $100 mark? Every single dollar you made just became 100 times more valuable! So why cashout that small amount? if you have $500, it would be worth $50,000!! What if it hits that $1000 mark? Well we all know how to put another zero at the end.

That extra zero just made it a life-changing amount for me, that's what I want! Don't You?!?

Put in the extra work.

Create a following, learn to create a link to any other media your a part of, like Facebook, have your friends follow you and teach them the platform. Tell them why you're in it for the long haul.

This is a golden opportunity, don't bail too early on it. Soon you and I could be a whale building our own platform, of course why would we, steemit already seems to be the perfect platform.

I am not an expert on investments, so if you really want to cash out I'm not going to give you any advice, its your money, I'm just letting you know I'm in it for the big dollars. The life changing amount, like buy an island in the pacific amount. So good luck and here's to hoping steemit overtakes Facebook soon!

Thank you for reading and please

I love this article, THank you for sharing your story. I can see where you come from on that, Powering down is scary. I haven't done that. But I have been taking out some of the Steem dollars, Just to pay some debt. But I'm glad for the opportunity, sometimes you have to take massive risks like that.

I completely agree, no more what if's in my life. I'm all in! And I lover your portfolios by the way, way cool!

I am the same mentality as you. I re-invest all my SBD into SP. Thanks for the article, re-affirming my belief in the long term investment into #steemit.

Upvoted.

Thanks for the vote!

I read that soon after you posted it, it's what inspired me to tell others the power of powering up! And I think we do need a group to keep encouraging each other!

Definitely, by investing in the platform, not only by buying steem but inputting, writing, voting and reading we can make this go big. Maybe not 1000 dollars per SBD but its good to hope!

It gains value on its own! That's what I like!

i still have yet to power down... not sure i ever will lol

like I said, what's couple hundred dollars mean? But it's up to you!
