Steemit addiction!!!
I've only been on Steemit for a month or so, but think it still have a lot of potential. Here are the reasons why I think so:
*1. The addiction factor of users.
How addicted users are to the site? I was and still am quite addicted to Steemit, much more than when I first found Facebook. But what determines someone's addiction?
A study done by Harvard Research Science reported that talking about ourselves on social media activates a pleasure sensation in the brain usually associated with food, money and sex.
Well no shit, now we are getting that same sensation on Steemit, but not just from the upvote that releases the sensation but we also receive money for it, therefore 2x the addiction sensation.
Therefore Steemit is VERY ADDICTIVE! Don't you agree???
The short term problem however is that these upvotes are not as regular as on Facebook or Instagram, just because all your friends and family that usually see your post first and like it because they feel obligated to do so aren't yet on Steemit. But in a few year, I predict that almost everyone will be on Steemit or a similar platform, just more addicted to it!
*2. Usability - Steemit incorporate all the major well known social networks currently used by the public, Steemit blogging = any blogging site already monetized from the start, Facebook = busy.org, Instagram = Steepshot and YouTube = DTube.
Well everyone is already on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube already, but they are starting to get irritated by the advertisements blocking their ease of browsing. Now we have Steemit with the other sites build on top of it that provide the same service or experience, but without any adverts and wait... An added bonus... You get paid to be on the platform!
Much more user friendly and much more fun to get paid being on it!
Yes there is one negative aspect that I see in this regard ant that is the fact that you only get the upvotes from the first 7 days after the post. I speculate that this is one of the major flaws on Steemit, where a competitor will win maybe in the future, by paying you per view or by making a payout every day for each days upvotes.
Then again it might not even have an effect if Steemit becomes hugely popular, because no-one will read any post after 7days in any case if there is so much posts that you can consume only the first or so day as it is currently found on Facebook.
*3. Sellability - How easy is the idea to sell?
Well everyone are on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube already, but they are starting to get irritated by the advertisements blocking their ease of browsing. Now we have Steemit with the other sites build on top of it that provide the same service or experience, but without any adverts and wait... An added bonus... You get paid to be on the platform! No way!
How easy is that to sell to your friends?
The only negative aspect I found however was the fact that you need to wait to get signed up, which is counter productive, because everyone is so used to instant gratification that they want to sign up now and get going straight away, without needing to wait.

Yeah too many people on Steemit are spoilt by the high prices and high upvotes they got in the first few months of 2018.
A long time ago, many old users we spoilt by 4 figures upvotes like >$1000, new users replaced those who didn't stick around after mid 2017 when the reward pool was spread out so more people got a chance to earn versus a minority who got the most from the reward pool.
It's not exactly the same, but something similar is happening now, it's a shake out. Honestly, it's not like facebroke is going to pay them anything, and all the new social media claiming to be on a blockchain, none are as transparent and opesource like Steem, most are probably business as usual disguise as cryto.
Wishing you great success here.
That's right! For all of our flaws, we are light years ahead of all competitors! The largest community, the technologically superior blockchain, the most useable chain in the entire crypto space!
Cheers!
Welcome to steemit @sacryptocollect. I've only been here for a short while myself and agree 100% of Steemits addictive nature. I guess its coz you constantly working towards something and trying to achieve goals so you always stay motivated. Enjoy the ride, i look forword to reading your work.
Thank you @mimismartypants!
Just like you said... Always working towards greatness!
Hello and welcome to #teamsouthafrica great to see you are having fun, sharing your insight, being a new member is always fun to read how people enjoy some reward for content.
Thank you @joanstewart
I've seen a few of your work! Thank you for the support!
Steemit was bound to happen sooner than later, as the idea of paying sites was around for a long time, but nobody could perfect the operations! Blockchain could be a great mover in the future and it could also change many systems across the world! There are rumours that even Facebook is having a look at cryptocurrencies! Hopefully we will see many changes emerging in the future! Welcome to steemit @sacryptocollect! Blessings and upvoted!
Thanks for being my highest upvoter @papilloncharity!
I think if Facebook or Amazon adopt their own crypto currency it will definitely help with mass adoption. Looking forward to what the crypto world will have in store for us in the future!
You got a 16.23% upvote from @whalecreator courtesy of @sacryptocollect! Delegate your Steem Power to earn 100% payouts.
This post was shared in the Curation Collective Discord community for curators, and upvoted and resteemed by the @c-squared community account after manual review.
The lack of instant gratification makes this more exclusive, I'm not sure we want everybody flocking over here yet. We are still in beta, that means more testing and development!
Also, @mattclarke had a great post about why the 7 day payout is a feature, not a drawback. It keeps newbies able to earn, for example.
Lots of cool new stuff on its way, we are pioneers here! There is a certain freedom on this test site called steemit, but the steem blockchain is home to a wonderful number of dapps, as you mentioned. The future is bright!
