Simple explanation of how Steemit works, for the newbies

Steemit to me is a wonderful invention and this invention will change a the world of social media for good. Now don't forget that all these are based on a Blockchain technology .if you're reading this and you're new to Steemit, I just want to say a big welcome to you.

what is Blockchain

blockchain is a distributed database (where things are stored) that is used to maintain a continuously growing list of records, called blocks. Each block contains a timestamp and a link to a previous block. By design, blockchains are inherently resistant to modification of the data. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks and a collusion of the network majority. Functionally, a blockchain can serve as "an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way. The ledger itself can also be programmed to trigger transactions automatically.

What is STEEMIT?

Steemit is a social network like Facebook and Twitter but pays you when you post and get likes (upvote).yes, u get paid (in a cryptocurrency which can be converted into bitcoin or spent directly). The quality of your post will determine how much you'll get from your post.

Personally I use steemit.com as a social network (like Facebook or Twitter) and also as a site for blogging. The same way I take selfies, edit them and post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and KingsChat, is the same way I do on Steemit. When I have a tutorial on any topic, I also use the same social network (Steemit) to teach.

How to get good earnings on Steemit by upvoting (liking) other people's post

In Steemit you get paid when people like your post and also you get paid when you like other people's post.

The process of liking other people's post is called "UPVOTING". When you upvote people's post, you're simply telling Steemit that you love what that person has posted and whatever he or she gets from that post, you want some share of the money. So, When it's time for that person to get paid, you'll also get a share of his money (in steem Power).

Payout on Steemit

Payout on Steemit is usually on the 7th day. so whatever you make on that post will be shared into two. You get paid in steem dollars (SBD) and steem Power (SP)

1. 75% goes to you
2. 25% goes to curators ( people that upvoted your post)

if u made $1000, it therefore means the whole $1000 is not for you buddy. Lol, 75% ($750) is for you and 25% ($25) will be shared amongst those who made the $1000 possible. So make sure you make posts everyday and upvote other people's post.
