LIVE YouTube feed to the Steemit Meet-Up in Bali, Aug 1st

It has been suggested that a live YouTube feed be created for the hour & a half presentation I will be giving at Hubud next week. Which I understand won't be a problem.

My Promise to the Steemit Community

The live feed will be available to watch through my @samstonehill account. I will post an article just prior to the beginning of the presentation, 5pm Bali time with the YouTube link, in order that it can be viewed live on Steemit.

I used to be a film-maker, but now I am so much more...

Who was I before?

I am the youngest son of American Business Tycoon Harry Stonehill who spent his life teaching me about the corruption of the United States whilst fighting a 40 year court case against his own government. See here to learn more about my father, who was a very special individual.

I was born & educated in the UK at the best schools. I gained a BA Hons degree in Radio, Film & Television at University after which I worked my way up the feature film and commercials ladder in Soho, the heart of film production in London.

The highlight of my career at that time was working on Guy Ritichie's film 'Snatch' as PA to the composer.

You will hear my voice singing 'Viva Las Vegas' at two points in the film.

Yep, the singer didn't turn up that day, so I stood in for him and they ended up using it on the CD!

I also worked as PA to the director on Gerard Butler's first feature film 'One More Kiss' a long time before he cried the words 'WE ARE SPARTA!'

I am yet to tempt Gerry onto Steemit...

...but I can assure you I am working on it!

My father died unexpectedly in 2002 and to take my mind off this immense sadness I joined the UK porn industry where I worked for PlayboyTV... in the end for many years, producing thousands of films for them around the world.

As a trained film-maker with some decent creative skills and many contacts in the film world I was somewhat of a rarity in this industry and very much in demand as a consequence.

In 2007 I won the Best Script at the UK Porn Awards for a production called Dr Screw, a rip-off of Dr Who (a British TV show). Which felt like the ultimate achievement at the time!

Shortly after this however I felt disillusioned and unfilled by my life despite the obvious perks and financial freedom. So I split up with my teenage porn star bride, gave up all things bad for me and checked into a rehab clinic for 4 months in South Africa where I cleansed my body & mind. And ultimately began a spiritual journey of discovery.

Not long after returning to London, I quit my job, stopped using the banking system, started sun-gazing, stopped wearing shoes, became a vegan, sold all my junk, put my remaining possessions in a (very heavy) bag on my back and started travelling.

After walking a section of the Camino de Santiago barefoot, shooting HDR motion control time-lapse films all the way, I ended up in Thailand where I met my French soul-mate on a bus from Chaing Mai to Pai and today we have two young children.

And now we all travel the world together....indefinitely!

One year ago I met a man who taught me about Bitcoin and Steemit here in Bali. And nothing has been the same since.

Steemit is perfect for me because I have been documenting my life with films and photography ever since I quit the rat race back in 2013.

And frankly it is perfect for anyone who has the ability to write English, take photographs and think of interesting things to talk about.

In Conclusion

• I have been living on Steem exclusively for the last 4 months, cashing out to IDR each week at my local Bitcoin Exchange... by writing about things that interest me.

• These days I can make anything from $300 to $1500 a week from my articles (depending on the value of Steem at the time)

• I created this situation with no prior knowledge of Steemit or even cryptocurrency, no investment of any kind other than the hours spent at my computer & a good library of international photography.

• I now have an automated upvoting system in place on multiple accounts, making me curation rewards of up to $100 a week.

• I am trading cryptocurrencies in the Bittrex marketplace and I am cloud mining Dash, Ether, Monero & Bitcoin.

In short I have developed a simple system for creating a steady income which does not involve the use of a bank account and I would like to share it now with as many people as possible around the world.

Which is what the Live YouTube feed will facilitate through Hubud's existing network of Bitcoin enthusiasts & through Steemit itself.
