Cheetahbot and ShadowBot [Abuse Detection]
ShadowBot will begin monitoring CheetahBot's blacklist beginning this week. If you are a spammer or steal content and get placed on CheetahBot's Black List you will instantly be removed from ShadowBot.
ShadowBot's mission is to enrich Steemit's community with high value content and give boosts to those posts. If you are caught abusing ShadowBot OR Steemit in any way your account will be suspended and removed after 7 days.
If you feel there is an error in your account being banned, please contact us ASAP. We will allow your account to re-activate on ShadowBot if and when you are removed from CheetahBot's Black Lists!
Thanks again for being part of this amazing project! Happy Steeming!
(We are in no way shape or form affiliated with @cheetah or it's developers, we simply like their style and have built a great resource for us to build on top of!)
[Update: added disclosure to bottom]
Please note ShadowBot will not down vote content. Abusive users will simply be removed.
So how do we find out if we are on cheetahbot's radar? When I first started on Steem I saw cheetahbot reply on some of my post. I guess it is a bot as it really didn't give any interaction. I have tried to use advice as I go and have not seen anything from cheetah recently. I would like to suggest, there seems to be many well established steemanians going after newbies. As a recent newbie myself but still in a heavy learning curve, I would like to ask that the age and usage of an account be taken into consideration when punishment is applied. Steem is not like any other social network, making the learning curve a little steeper than most. Mistakes will be made. Maybe a little more info given by cheetahbot as to the danger it imposes and why. As I recall, all cheetahbot said was, this post (with a link) has been found elsewhere. I had built my story on my own and did not understand until now, that I was being tagged for it.
The age of your account has no bearing on ShadowBot or Cheetahbot's blacklisting.
If you get a post that is friendly and an up vote from CheetahBot you are just being notified that your content appears very similar to other content on the internet. It does NOT add you to the blacklist.
If you get a post from Cheetahbot that starts with "Warning" and tells you that you are on the black list, you are now on their black list and will be added to ShadowBot's black list as well.
All members added to our Black List have the 7 days from that time to explain their case and if we decide you are not abusing anything or spamming we will remove you from our internal Black List.
Currently I do not see a readily available way to access CheetahBot's blacklist but we are building the list from the blockchain based on their comments. ShadowBot will provide a way to access and search the blacklist!
Please read through the FAQ on CheetahBot to understand more:

OK, I do not remember if it was cheetah or cheetabot. Thank you very much for the additional info. I will follow you to keep up to date on your post as I think this info in VERY important people know what is going on.
@cheetah is the steemit username for Cheetah Bot. Glad to help!
What do you mean with suspended and removed? As far as I know you cannot suspend accounts and most of all removing them is impossible.
Once on the blockchain, always on the blockchain ;-)
While I understand what you're trying to do, I do have a fundamental issue with this.
This is namely that @cheetah is not always functioning properly.
The way you are now building the blacklist is erroneous, just check this post; https://steemit.com/spam/@a-alice/i-m-not-a-fake-2017828t2177951z
This girl was blacklisted although she did nothing wrong, and it's not the only instance last few weeks.
By you rebuilding a blacklist just on part of the blockchain data, you're not taking into account events that happened after the original blacklist.
Having said that, I don't think anyone, bot or human, should blacklist people without a thorough investigation of the account and they should always provide the reason why someone is blacklisted.
Good question. We maintain our own internal blacklist for this reason. If you are unfairly placed on the blacklist you just simply contact us and you are off after a quick review!
You are also correct we do NOT disable ANY user's steemit account and we NEVER down vote or do anything in any way to cause any type of harm to the user. We simply de-activate their ShadowBot privileges until they prove their account was placed on OUR blacklist unfairly.
Again software is only so good and much of our system relies on feedback from other systems and users. This is why we ultimately control the blacklist WE maintain at https://shadowbot.us/shadowbot/blacklist.php and manage it ourselves.
