RE: an open letter to @ned
The vote and comment was strictly to make a point and draw out Daniel's long-running, subtextual, subversive intent to compete with Steem, to give the public alignment with his private discourse, which has long been filled with express intent to compete. And of course I will retract the vote.
You may have thought you were making that point @Ned. Your actions made a much louder point. You showed yourself unable to respond in a business like manner. It really doesn't matter if you knew, suspected or just wondered if EOS was going to result in a competitor. You should have been long ago expecting a competitor was going to appear and been diligently making steady consistent progress building this platform into what it can be.
While much might be going on behind the scenes, what the users and public sees doesn't show much indication of anything but navel gazing happening. Who cares if EOS or anyone else is going to build a competitor? Don't just talk about what is coming and then go into radio silence on the topic.
There has been an ongoing lack of communication from Steemit Inc for months. It shows a lack of respect for the users, especially the dedicated users who have faith in the future of the platform even in the face of seeing little to no forward progress.
You might not like that Dan posts progress reports here on Steemit. He is still a user here. There is no reason for him not to post if he chooses to. I for one would not have even seen his post if not for your behaviour. So, you drew attention to him and his project, currently and in the future.
After months of you pretty much MIA around the platform, you show up by pulling a stunt anything but indicative of the CEO of a serious firm. That is the point you made. You've also imprinted the impression that your actions directly led to the EOS competitor. I may be dead wrong but you know, perception is everything.
Now that you've shown your colours and your voting power. Maybe it's time you took some action to resolve the ongoing haejin issue. That is a greater threat to this platform than anything Dan will do, IF you lead Steemit.inc to build this platform into what it should be.
Yes don’t you see I have never stopped building throughout our time? Visit the SMT whitepaper. I always expect competition. I just don’t like when competition masquaurades as friend while planning to compete. The community deserves to know.
Regardless of all, I do it all for the vision. Empowering entrepreneurs to tokenize the web with Steem.
Again - thank you for that @ned!
"Regardless of all, I do it all for the vision. Empowering entrepreneurs to tokenize the web with Steem."
This is what @ned has been saying for a long time. He didn't say he wanted to build a social media site, in fact he has been pretty clear about this.
I am unclear how others keep thinking it should be his goal to build the SteemIt site. He has said it over and over with his words and his actions.
He is working on a blockchain, not the social media site. Whether I like that decision or not, I have accepted it.
