GuideSteemit: Guide to Steemit Users
Hi Steemians,
This post is part of one of Guidesteemit's motto of guiding Steemians, especially new joiners on plagiarism, Copy-Paste and Spamming and being caught by Cheetah and SteemCleaners.
We assume that, even if this post helps 1 or 2 guys on the issues mentioned, we think our effort is utilized in a menaingful way.
Recently, one of Guidesteemit channel (Discord channel: https://discord.gg/2ZUkm2f) members posted telling that, he was caught by @SteemCleaners and has lost his reputation to 10. So, we thought, why don't we take this opportunity to publish a blog with some useful tips.
As part of that, here are few tips, using which, we can ensure we are avoiding the abuse.
When we refer the content from google or some other website, we can write it in our own words instead of just copy pasting and include a reference to the original post either in the form of a link or mentioning the website details from which the information has been referred.
This ensures that, we are providing an option to users to read the original content and appreciate our effort of re-using that in a meaningful way.
Don't just include a single image without any description of the same in a post. When we want to express something through an image, someone may understand what we want to convey to them in that image, and some may not.
It's always better to include some meaningful description of the image which is being used in our post.
Do not include any referral links as part of promotion in the blogs as this is considered as spamming by Steemit and such things will be flagged and down-voted by SteemCleaners and Cheetah.
When we reply to a post, we just need to refer the content and provide our honest opinion on what the author has written. We can be critic as well if we feel the post is against ethics and against moral values.
We need to avoid simply replying "Nice Post", "Good Post, Keepit Up", "Upvoted and Resteemed" etc. This way, we can prove that we have read the content and have expressed our views on the same.
Do not ask for Upvote as part of comments to a post. Instead, use postpromiton channels on steemit.chat and other discord channels where in, we can post our blog link for a review by channel members and if they like it, they will vote it. In that way, we can politely ask the users to check our content and get their view via voting.
Found these points helpful? Share your views and if someone has any additional points which you feel are useful, post those as comments.
If you feel it helps your followers, then resteem this post.
