BlockTrades: My Exchange Of Choice For STEEM DOLLARS And How To Exchange SBD For Bitcoin

in #steemit7 years ago

A lot of you are new and have questions about Steemit, STEEM, and SBD.

Principally: "how do I liquidate my Steemit earnings for spending?"

Well, firstly, I'd like to share this video with you and then explain what my favorite exchange is (currently) and why:

How To Trade STEEM DOLLARS For BITCOIN

Which Exchange To Use

I've done a pros and cons list of @changelly vs @blocktrades:

The primary con against @blocktrades was the exchange rate -- typically, you could get more going elsewhere.

But for the last week, they have had the best rates.

And with all the problems I've seen talked about Poloniex, the fact that @changelly partners with them has been a liability: extremely long exchange delays that @blocktrades hasn't had.

The speed that @blocktrades has is, frankly, remarkable. I traded some SBD this morning and as soon as the funds were sent on Steemit, I checked my Bitcoin address and saw that the transaction was pending verification. It was instant. Even at it's top speed, @changelly still took a few minutes to process the exchange and send the funds.

So my advice is to follow the step-by-step instruction I give in the video above, and use @blocktrades as your exchange.

Good post these help people out a lot.

I did my first trade on blocktrade today. Bought 1 ETH worth of SP. It was pretty quick, completed n 2 minutes. I got around 153 SP for 1 ETH

Yeah, they're pretty solid!

blocktrades <3

I agree with you Shayne, lately for larger exchanges of SD blocktrades has been great :) Great demo, did you ever see my Bitcoin ATM withdrawal video? reason I ask is because I wanted to know if you have those where you live yet. It took me a while to find one that converts fiat to btc, most in FL are just buy only. Have a great weekend

We don't have any around here. If we ever get one I'll be sure to look for your video :D

Cool, you are smart enough to to figure it out with out looking at my video haha but thanks @Shayne back to the topic at hand. I recently starting using blocktrades for larger transactions and I love it! Thanks for sharing

I just keep powering up for now

I hope you're doing a 50/50 split and trading your SBD for STEEM and then powering that up.

Of course.
I'm new but a very quick learner
Never do 100%

I love BlockTrades as well, can't wait for more liquidity there.

Also, don't forget to mention that all the newbies should try hard to not store their coins on an exchange.. Too many security issues lately :O

Indeed. Exchanges need some serious improvements.

Thanks for the tip! 👍

Excellent info.. you made something that sounds difficult into something very easy.. Thank you

I admit that it's intimidating at first. But, like most things, once you figure it out and get used to it, it's actually very easy :D

I compared those two and Blocktrades was much better. Took about 10 minutes to have my Btc. I've been able to order my Bitwala debit card now.

It used to be a toss-up between the two, but recently Changelly has been dropping the ball and BlockTrades has had massively improved rates.

It's a no-brainer for me.

Is the Bitwala card in the mail now??? I remember how cool it was to get my Shift bitcoin card :D

It should be on its way. They say 7 day delivery, but I think it comes from Germany. Looking forward to it

I also use blocktrades. Dan is brilliant, and has been around Bitshares and Steemit from the get go!

The customer service is amazing. Whenever I've had any problem he has gotten back to me within minutes!

Yep. At this point I can't see myself using a different exchange.

They are extremely fast, always have Steemit currencies available, and for the past week even have the best exchange rates.
:D

Hey, you old dog! You back now?
