I have seen some posts here about Steemit being used on some websites to buy things and services like a payal button. BUT i have not tried or even looked into it much.

Otherwise its real value is in Bitcoins which in turn has unlimited buying power.

The nature of any currency is its value is only based on its demand. Anything can be valuable even seashells. Steemit value at the moment is mostly through Bitcoins but that will change over the next few months as the platform develops.

that my noob opinion. havent fully figured it out out yet myself but thats what it makes me think.
