Free is awesome and there is nothing better than a free SEO tool especially if that free SEO tool will bring you some extra traffic, rank, money, etc.

I want to give you my top free SEO tools collection that I use. They are easy to use, effective, powerful and best of all free (it is always nice to have a large arsenal of tools on your side).

My favorite all time favorite tool is Google Analytics because delivers data that helps you understand your visitors (website traffic and traffic sources) and how they interact with your website. If you’re not using Google Analytics yet, I recommend that you begin as soon as possible.

Google Search Console (previously Google Webmaster Tools) is indispensable because:
• you can see how google looks at your website content
• get a list of internal, external, and broken links to your site
• see the keywords that people are using to find your website, and their CTR
• you can submit sitemaps
• provides you the list of crawling errors

Moz is a user friendly marketing tools. Below are some of my favorite free Moz tools:
• Open Site Explorer provides data about your domain and page authority, the number of links directing to your website and a list of URLs with links directing to your site. To use Moz Open Site Explorer, just visit the Moz website, enter your URL, and click the “Search” button.
• Moz Local useful when you start local SEO on a site.
• Mozbar is a browser toolbar and with only one click you can get an instant report on the website you’re visiting.
• The SERP Overlay is part of the Mozbar and shows OSE metrics on individual search results.

If plan to implement a SEO campaign, or making changes to an existing one, the Google Keyword Planner can help you a lot. With this tool you can search keyword ideas and see how these keywords may perform. While searching, you can even discover other keywords that you may not have thought of, and you can also multiply keyword lists.

Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool - use this tool to check how Google views your structured data markup. All you need to do is supply the markup or the website URL.

Screaming Frog’s SEO Spider Tool is a website crawler that delivers in-depth info about your website’s technical SEO health and it will make your life much easier to fix those issues.

I always check Google Trends before choosing a keyword because I want to know whether or not my keyword is getting popular. Mastering this tool can keep your content current and one step ahead of the competition. If you skip this step you risk optimizing your page around a useless keyword.

If you still manually check header status codes and spend ages moving down an unending path…you need to install Redirect Path . This is a Google Chrome extension that will help you discover HTTP header and redirect errors. It is also very simple, so anyone can use it.

Keywordtool.io can give you many keyword ideas based on a single keyword. You can even use it for Google, YouTube, App Store, Bing, Amazon keywords. This tool is especially useful for long-tail keywords (that Google Keyword Planner doesn’t provide because of the low search volume).

Google and Bing search engines are very useful SEO tools. Searching in an incognito window will bring up autofill options and with some search magic, you can will get a lot of info (like duplicate content or keyword rank).

Google Page Speed Tools is Google’s tool that can check the speed and usability of your website on multiple devices (desktop and mobile) and show you exactly what you need to do to speed up your site. The mobile results also come with a user experience score.

Google Tag Assistant (Chrome Plugin) it is an easy way to see if Google tags are installed properly.

SEM Rush provides data about rankings, competitive analysis, keyword research and more. The best part about SEM Rush is that you can research your competition in many ways. You can find their best backlinks, best keywords, best content, etc.

Bing Webmaster Tools this tool tells you everything you need to know about your website’s visibility in Bing, if Bing is important to you (more than 20% of the Internet’s search traffic).

From SEOWorkers Analysis tool you can get a fast SEO report and save a lot of time but if you need reports about mobile data you will need to use WooRank (not many free SEO analysis tools provide this level of data).

Tools work different from person to person, so try to figure what is best for you, I always thought it is best to work smarter, not harder and aimed to grab the ones that I’ve found valuable and easy to use.

What is your favorite free SEO tool? Do you prefer web or browser tools ?
