A WAKE UP CALL TO ALL CHRISTIANS

in #steemit7 years ago

Occasions like this come once in a year, that shows it is very special to the believers of the Christian faith, it also tells of our humanity and the transient nature of the life we live. Why then do the lessons that comes with it elude us as the period passes?

Take a roll call of people you live together with in brotherhood, patriotism and Nationallism last year. You will find that some are no more, it was never their wish, neither were you smarter than them but of the Lord that "showeth mercy".

The word of God is love and Easter is a right time to show it. The Holy christian bible says
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love"
- Ephesians 4:2 NIV.

Our nation has bled too much over misapplication of religion, with a few misguided elements throwing insult and contempt at each other, that some have tapped into our weakness, how else could that show? When Boko Haram members decided to manipulate us for their self seeking interest by kidnapping Dapchi school girls and releasing all and keeping one saying she must "convert " there is no compulsion in religion, yes!

It is very clear to me too, that there are good and bad Christians as there are good and bad Muslims, the bad ones are in minority and we the good ones must never allow them to define us.

As Christians celebrate Easter I call on all of us to imbibe the lessons of the period, patience, tolerance and understanding.

Lastly, I employ each and everyone to put Our Chibok Girls, Leah Sharibu the only Christian Dapchi School girl still in captivity and their families in prayers for the safe return of their daughters and all those still in captivity.

Remember:
1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Happy Easter,
