RE: SOMEONE AT STEEMIT IS CENSORING CONTENT

in #steemit5 years ago (edited)

Steemit is not censoring content. What is more than likely happening is that there are some members who disagree with you, and are down-voting your posts/comments. Unfortunately when that happens, if they have a higher reputation rating then yours, your post becomes hidden and in fact, your own reputation can drop a little.

PS. I just scanned through all 185 of your posts for the last 3 years, and found that only 1 of them has been hidden, and that one was because of a downvote as I suspected, so I really do not see what you are complaining about. None of your posts have been censored, and only 1 of 185 of them has been hidden, which in reality is not hidden at all if you know how to view it.

Well, here's the catch - Steemit itself doesn't censor. BUT - if a user with a higher reputation score downvotes your post, one such downvote can outweigh many upvotes from the weaker users and the post immediately gets hidden "for low rating". The only way to overcome this is to have your reputation score higher than his. Which is quite difficult considering that his powerful downvotes bump your reputation way down.
