The Ocean of Steemit
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on Steemit lately of people complaining that their post hasn’t made any steem. Conversely, I see some posts that have been upvoted into the thousands! Both have quality content but one of them is much more eye-catching than the other.
Why is this happening?
The steemwhales are upvoting the posts that will attract the masses to Steemit and in the ocean the whales call the shots. The whales are the most in tune with the vibes of the ocean and they know what’s best for the ecosystem. All the other fish have faith that the whales will provide a stable environment wherever they go so they follow.
If your post hasn’t attracted much attention it’s probably because like a lobster roaming the bottom of the ocean you aren’t very appealing to the whales. The whales are not interested, presently, in a detailed analysis of the different grains of sand on the ocean floor. While that may be interesting to some, they want to see colorful schools of fish and eclectic dolphin shows that will attract fish from all over!
Steemit is in its “marketing” phase right now. If you want a post that will get whale votes; keep that in mind. Write something inspiring, post attractive photos that everyone can enjoy and show us your marijuana; whatever is hot right now. See what the whales are voting on and posting about, and like a remora fish stuck to the whale, ride with it.
As you grow from a fish to a dolphin and eventually a small whale you’ll have increasing influence on which posts are likely to trend. Ask yourself these questions before you post:
What would the steemwhales think of this story?
Will everybody understand and relate to my post?
Will my blog bring people to Steemit for good?
