This is not censorship, it is how Steem is intended to work. Read the white paper. There's a section where it says downvotes should be used if you consider someone is misusing the system. Buying big votes on a post without much value is considered misuse by many. The rewards you would get reduce what others receive.
Some say we should go after the vote sellers, but that is not viable. The new free downvotes enable more people to adjust rewards and your trending posts made you a visible target for this.
Nobody is automatically entitled to rewards. It's about proof of brain of the community.
