RE: STEEM Nation: Should we capitalize on the YouTube situation and recruit YouTube whales?

in #steemit8 years ago

Youtubers can obviously benefit from being on Steemit, but they still have to host their videos somewhere. That's an expensive business for the storage and bandwidth. It may be viable if whoever does it can take a percentage of the Steem generated by a video and I think that's possible now. I'm sure a lot of people would like to get away from needing advertising to pay them. The big Youtubers still have a massive audience over there and Steemit is still too small to be attractive. It's better for smaller players at the moment.

True ! I wonder if they even know about Steemit. Maybe one day steemit will have a video service such as YouTube, would help attract content creators .

If we can get a few top Youtubers saying "I made $20 by posting my video on Steemit and you could be earning from comments there" then it could take off. I've never made a cent on Youtube, but even my videos can earn here.

Most definitely! I might try influence a few today and see what they say

It's worth a try. Posting videos is so easy on Steemit. Maybe someone could make it automatic when you upload a new one with appropriate tags and signature block. Of course people need to engage here to do well. I did a video a while back about how to post on Steemit, but I just don't have many subscribers.

Me as well I had a few nice grossing post but majority are around $1 until the fork people really need to interact
