Why a blogger should not stop rechecking and updating old posts in his blog?

Many of us very good at writing, we make great content on several topics and we post them nicely. After a few hours or few days you see getting good traffic and good appreciation to your post. Every thing goes well for a few days. But then after a few days most of us forget to recheck the same post and update the upcoming growth and changes in the area of the topic they discussed earlier. That's why those old topics go hidden and unchecked by google.

If you are not properly updating your old posts, google algorithm will stop crawling your posts slowly because every time when it visists your old posts, it always sees the same content. And your competitor might be writing the same topic in Broadway with the latest news and latest improvements on the topic. So this google search bot will choose other's post rather than yours.

Why Wikipedia always first on the Google search results?

Wikipedia has so much content on different topics, we all know that, but it's not the only reason why it's getting crawled always first on the google search results.

The main reason behind this, Wikipedia has so many free content creators who updates the articles, timely, They modify and add the new content to the same old pages.

New content in the old post is like new wine in the old bottle

Some topics might be so old for some people, but there are always new people who look for the certain information you wrote on the internet. If your post should get crawled to those people, you should be updating this on time with new information.

There is another use doing this to your posts. Your post was created long back and you keep on adding the new content of your old posts, google search bot will find you as a loyal content creator and will crawl your content before your competitors.

Steemit posts are only for 7 days and what is the need of updating the old posts?

Well steemit posts might be only for seven days, but you can get paid indirectly from those too. For example, we know steemit posts get crawled on the internet. People who look for the information they can check your old posts and they can be your new follower and you never know they could be your constant supporter on steemit.

And if you are writing something about referring the products, they can sign up through your post and you still can make money out of it. For getting all these, one should constantly check their posts and updating them timely.
