Some of the most popular locations

A few weeks ago I was talking to a very good friend of mine about STEEMIT and explained how it had captured the imagination of many across the globe.

My friend and his wife are avid travellers and have travelled all around the world over the last 30-40 years.

Now they are retired they spend anything up to 3 months per year out of the U.K.

One area that they have travelled to on many occasions is East Asia and it was this that triggered what I wanted to share with you today.

While I was explaining to my friend the mechanics and the concept of STEEMIT he made a bet with me that there would be a large portion of users from the Mid to East Asia regions.

He wasn't wrong.

Earlier I decided to lift the hood on the data and have a good rummage around.

This is what I found.

Extracting the locations from 33,980 records (8,738 locations) I wanted to look at the most popular locations.

A location was either: a Town, a City, an Area, or Country.

Out of these 33,980 records the following represent the Top 67 locations and covers 11,074 records.

On other words the Top 67 locations are represented from 8,738 locations extracted.

It may come as a surprise to some but the Top 10 in order is..... India, USA, Venezuela, UK, Canada, Germany, Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Los Angeles, California, New York, London, Aceh, South Africa, Seoul, Florida, Korea.

Here is the alphabetical list....
