RE: Get The Most Out Of Steemit! Stop Making Excuses! Make Steemit.com A Better Place For Everyone! - Follow-up Post

Great motivational and inspirational post.

However, I am new to the community and I was hoping you or someone could explain something to me. I see that my first post is doing well in terms of votes, but I haven't accumulated much money off of it. For instance, you and I have about the same number of votes, but I have 90 cents and you have about 20 dollars.

Can you or someone please explain the dynamics of what is happening? I am positive it has to do with influence and steam power, but I am not clear on exactly what is going on.

It depends on the quality of the voter. My account is still new, so I don't pass much value when I vote for someone. However, when someone else comes along that has a ton more SteemPower, their vote means something. As the whales learn that you provide great content, they'll start to vote more, increasing your overall earnings.

That also goes for yourself. As your account gets stronger, as you write new articles, the vote you pass on your own articles gives it a boost. That, in turn, encourages others to also participate and over time, you get stronger and stronger.

@jaycodon I this the perfect answer!
