Don’t follow me… I’m lost…

Oh geez, It’s day three on Steemit. I definitely did not expect to be this confused. I figured it would be like any other social media website except you get paid right? Yeah, not so much… what the heck are all these different Steemit currencies? What are all these upvotes? Am I paying people when I upvote them? Where did I get this money to pay people? Are the Steemit debt collectors gonna come after me if I don’t pay up? Ok, Ok, obviously I am being overdramatic. I mean it’s only a few cents right? …right? I have been watching videos on “Steemit For Beginners” or “Steemit Basic Tutorial” but they are frankly, pretty boring. Any suggestions for videos or links, that may make learning about Steemit a little bit more fun, Or at the very least not bore me to death and actually answer questions I want the answers to? I am just wondering if anyone else out there is as lost as I am, and if you are and still feel like following me go ahead. The more the merrier. At least we won’t be lost and lonely.

Hello, this is a bit confusing in the beginning but not so hard, you will know after some week like a pro :)
so this may help a bit:

Love this video, so informative. Thank you!

You pay people when you upvote them.
They pay you when you are upvoted
There are two currencies Steem and SBD
The third is Steempower. The more Steempower you have the more you can vote with effect.

I have some tutorials on how to add videos and photos. I think they have been negated because you can now just drag a photo or a video into place.

As a new user do you do a post with the introduce yourself tag? introduceyourself.

You should do this post and and a photo while you hold a piece of paper that says the date, your name, and steemit on it. Then you are verified. You get paid more if you are verified because you are not a fraud pretending to be someone else.

You can sign up to follow @steemitboard and @elyaque and they will give you awards as you reach goals in posting.

Everyone else is always lost but there are some true things - title and tags are important. Be careful of plagiarism, if you use someone else's photos or words make a detailed list of your sources giving credit.

More Steempower equals the greater ability to vote for posts you like in a meaningful way.

Use headers - Click the markdown link in Submit a Story, it will list all the markdown language you can use.

Steemit will accept HTML and Javascript as well.

What kind of entrepreneur are you? And I hope this helps you

Thank you for the info! I did not know that about the intro post. I will do that next!

you´r not alone. @tahneereece and welcome. :)

Glad you made this post because I had similar questions and confusion:)

Lol glad I am not the only one!

Good questions. I dropped you my tutorial with all the answers in your intro post but I dare to do it again over here. You seem to be in need. ;)

When I arrived on Steemit a few weeks ago I was very confused how this all works. I read through hundreds of articles about the dynamics of Steemit and finally wrote this The Ultimate Guide for Steemit Beginners: Money, Posts, Design, Topics, Bots, Behaviour, Community and Apps. I wrote it for YOU. Normally I wouldn't post my links into others comments unasked. But the massive positive feedback from my readers made it my mission to help newcomers finding this post quickly. Feel free to ask any questions. I will try to answer them all. I apologize if you are not interested in this and I will not further disturb you.
