RE: The differences and similarities between APPICS and Steemit - Explained!

in #steemit7 years ago

I don't understand this.

Once the SMT comes out, no - because APPICS will be independent from the Steem Blockchain.

How can APPICS be separate from the STEEM blockchain?

Especially after this is posted...

APPICS is one of the first Smart Media Tokens (SMT) on the STEEM Blockchain.

An SMT is a native digital asset on the Steem blockchain that can be quickly launched by anyone to help monetize online content - especially practical in the social media space.

What am I missing?

Read more confusing stuff here. They ignored stuff on Telegram any real feedback. They only wanted Yes men feedback... https://steemit.com/steemit/@phoneinf/warning-do-not-invest-in-appics

"Once the SMT comes out, no - because APPICS will be independent from the Steem Blockchain." this is only meant as an answer for the question: will APPICS posts automatically show up on steemit?
Later on no they won't, because APPICS is not a client for the steem blockchain. Instead APPICS is an independent cryptocurrency and a smart media token.

Where are the transactions posted then?

I think all the SMT-Tokens that will emerge like XAP can be viewed as Sidechains from the original Steem-Blockchain. It should work the same like with Ethereum and ERC-20 Tokens.

Thank God, reason I'm not using tons of steem dapps is that they all end up posting on my main timeline.

On which blockchain will run then?

Sidechain system I believe, kind of like lightning.

Yeah, this isn't making sense to me either.
SMT's are records on the Steem blockchain.
The Appics site/app may be independent, but if XAP the currency is an SMT then it'll be recorded here by definition.

Yeah. I'm lost as well.
